Nuno to leave Wolves

It is a possibilty that a manager has come up, but it's a shitty way they have treated a decent man, and the best manager we've had in decades. I don't care if it's business. There is a way to do that, and there's not the way to do it.
We have done it OK haven't we?

Taking aside the decision to do it is a killer - They have given it thought, then spoke at length with the man. Then allowed him to be the one to tell the players, then allowed him to speak to the fans via the media and allowed him to say goodbye in front of the fans. All done without a single leak to the press. It's a shitty decision on the face of it but handled with some grace and dignity.
The shitty way to do it is on Monday, drop a line to a journo saying he is off. Summon him to the office, sack him there and then and watch him as he leaves in an uber as they have already taken his car keys from the leased vehicle they give him.

Shitty as in after 3 fantastic seasons and just one bad season with extenuating circumstances they bin him. Yes, they haven't done the latter in your post, but it's still a shitty decision imo.

We have to hope this is the reason. At least that gives us a fighting chance and not scrabbling around for someone. If they say it should be sorted in 2 weeks you'd hope they've already had initial contact with their 1st choice and they're confident in making it happen.

Fonseca is out of a job after this weekend so he'd be ideal as no compo required as with someone like Lopetegui.

Just got to hope they can convince him. The Portugese links should hopefully help, and the fact he likes a ball player in the centre of a back three (Coady) too. That video says he uses a box to box midfielder though which we don't have (no I'm not counting Donk).
I think it's a leap to suggest anyone out there would do a better job than Nuno, unless there is something we don't know. I worry Fosun's ambitions don't match reality. 2 7th place finishes followed by a mid table one are a great result, even though regression isn't a positive. I've never bought into the realism of us being a Top 6 side, if that's really the aim, I think we are going to see a lot of managers come and go, because even if we sneak in one year I don't see it as a realistic expectation annually on our budget

I think the process started a few months ago but the decision, as stated by Percy and Co, was finalised Monday. Then the talks with Nuno started.
Maybe, but like all of us we are guessing, and unless Fosun come out and tell us we'll just never know. Maybe when Nuno writes a book..

You could be right. Probably a "so you wanted to the end of the season, how do you feel?" type thing.

Not sure Nuno has ever had a trusted go to reporter.
That just reminds me of when Nuno arrived.
Timmy 2 was desperate to talk to him during preseason and always got told "after the next game" Nuno did that for the whole if the Austria tour and 2 games in the UK.

He spoke to the fans but not Timmy #legend

There's truth in the latter. We are not Man City, Man U, Chelsea or even Arsenal in cash terms. Unless there's a change in FFP rules.

Him and Judah chasing him around was Benny Hill like

Poor Timmy.

Think it's just as much of a leap to suggest no-one could match what Nuno has done too. If his achievements were truly that other worldly then he'd be poached by a bigger club rather than walking away empty handed.

He's done a good job, some fantastic achievements along the way, but I don't think any of it should be viewed at such a level it can never be topped. The club is left with a squad which should have enough about it to be kept clear of trouble by anyone competent, remember how so many looked down their noses at relegation concerns a few months ago, so it seems as good as time as any to take a gamble.

Yes its shitty and football is a horrible business at times. We don't know the inner thinking of Fosun but to make this call, it won't just be based on how the season has panned out. If it was performance related let's be honest the Chorley/WBA double header would have ended his spell here.
I'm doing my usual, desperate to look for the positive act here but I would say the decision is based on a longer term vision. They may have got it horribly wrong but we don't know. Personally I would not have done this but then I don't have multi millions invested in the club (just my sad little life and that's not worth much)

On a separate note, I've seen a few be careful what you wish for and are you happy now quotes. On here there have been a few that have said they are ambivalent, but I've only seen one poster actively say Nuno out. So is it really a thing elsewhere and if so just a few attention seekers or a genuine movement?

Agreed in bold, but i highly doubt any manager/coaching staff are going to come here and connect with the players, fans and town like Nuno did. He was more than just a manager to a lot of folk.

A social media thing really.

There's no doubt as it's just a business to them. It just doesn't sit right with me, and quite a few others out there. But it's done now and all we can hope is that Fosun don't fuck it up, or the Wolves world will come crashing down on them real quick.
