Yes please to Pereira.

His Porto team were class.

Must confess I only know him from Football Manager 16, but he is pretty brilliant in that. Usually ends up managing one of the top-tier Champions League clubs in the games I've played.

He inherited a very good side from AVB to be fair (they’d just won the Europa League) so I wouldn’t read too much in to that. They have however gone somewhat downhill since he left, as there is only so often you can sell all your best players and expect to be successful.

I would have taken Pereira a couple of years ago but he's not had an easy time since. He left Olympiakos after apparently going for an interview at Rangers without the club knowing and then he left Fenerbache in questionable circumstances earlier this season. Surely there has to be a manager out there with a reasonable record and not a lot of baggage.

What kind of playing style does he prefer? Cant find anything in the links below his Wikipedia or anything online about formations etc

I like my teams to have total control, of the ball, of the game,” he said.
“I like to see my teams pressing very aggressively, very high up the pitch.
“The important thing is the balance between the attacking and defensive elements, but pressing high is the best way to defend. We have had the best defence in Portugal for the last two years.”

He didnt have Matt Doherty, Danny Batth and Kourtney Hause in his defence though..

Agree with you - but the problem is (Fosun or no Fosun) is that we are 18th in the Championship. And without being unduly unkind, Wolverhampton isn't quite as attractive as some European alternatives...

Yeah to a degree i have to agree with that but as Paddy keeps pointing out we have money so that could be a big factor and if you look at a lot of our squad, mostly the new signings we have a lot of good players to work with. Hopefully those 2 things are enough to tempt someone with a decent record to come.

What happened at Fenerbache?

Sacked after he failed to get past the final Prem Round of the Champs League. Also seemed to piss off RvP are fair bit last season as well by saying he needs to play better if he wants to play more minutes

What happened at Fenerbache?

From what was reported he had a meeting with the board and agreed they would play a certain way, he then changed his mind and played 3-5-2 against Monaco with players that didn't suit. He then left Turkey and i'm not sure whether he's been back yet because he feared for his safety and was obviously sacked. Strange but Fenerbache and Turkish football in general is a mess.

Christ there are some complete and utter contemptible mongs on Twitter.

Since the news broke, I have seen genuine calls for the following:

Tim Sherwood
Ryan Giggs
Paul Ince
Ian Holloway
Dougie Freedman
Nigel Pearson
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Paul Lambert

I'd be interested to hear just a single reason why any of these would be a good idea.
