Next Manager chat.

No, it's called stating your position then continually contradicting yourself. He gets too close to managers and let's his personal opinion get in the way of his objectivity. He was the same with his Jackett meltdown.

Think you're being extremely harsh on him here. You can easily disagree with a decision and yet understand the reasons for it. I heard nothing in that video to suggest he's doing more than that.

Most of us agree that he went a bit mental when Jackett was sacked but it was a big departure in etiquette for the club. Spiers won't have been the only fan to be so moved by it.

Just looked through a list of available managers and some names of interest that stood out...

Remi Garde
Alberto Bollini
Guus Hiddink (surely wouldn't come here but hey)
Armin Veh
Marcelino Toral

Of those, Toral is to me the most interesting of the lot. Not sure on the specifics of his departure from Villareal but averaged well over 1.5 points a game there. Even managed to be successful with Zaragoza.

You were all gobbing off at Huddersfield earlier in the season about how great he was. I told by one of your knobhead supporters, who told me that Jimmy Savile was one of my own (he was from Leeds) and that we had no history (won Division 1, 3 times in a row) that Zenga would be sacked before Xmas. He carried out spouting his crap as he walked up to the town centre. Its quite funny that you are the most arrogant fans we've had at Huddersfield this season and you deserve everything you get. Couldn't handle the fact that little old Huddersfield had outclassed you, well ha $#@!ing ha!

Good morning. Thank you for this. You are somewhat of a bogey side and many on here were very pleased with your early season form as although we are partisan Wolves fans we also appreciate when a side over performs , as I am sure you would agree , you are so far. I am sorry you found a fan to be arrogant. However I am now hoping you have a great season and finish 7th. If/ when that happens please feel free to post again on here and crow. Until then have a good one.

I liked Zenga and hoped he could prove us and his record wrong. Wouldn't touch big Sam or any of the faces on the manager carousel that are linked every time a job comes up. The game is moving on we need a young, forward thinking coach, fresh ideas to take us forward for me.

Woke up this morning to see Dougie Freedman as hot favourite. What?? Unless I'm mistaken he has a win percentage of about 33%. I'd rather have Nigel Adkins, and he's currently favourite for the prestigious gig at Grimsby

Was more than one supporter but yeah you're right! I still find it hilarious though, the fact you were so annoyed by little old Huddersfield outclassing you. It was even better seeing grown man going absolutely mental when Van la Parra made you all look a bit silly :D

Lol. Love and hugs.

Small team mentality...

Thought I'd let the dust settle (somewhat) before commenting on here, but have read every comment in this thread with interest - even the Huddersfield lads.

Firstly, good luck with whatever stop the crazy Walter Zenga bus arrives at next. Genuinely likable guy who I wanted to do well. Completely left-field at the time, and has been very quickly proven to be what most of us thought initially, the wrong appointment.

I'll look back on his short stint here with a "what if?". We were really close to being a very good team with him in charge, and I felt that had we turned a couple of those early draws in to wins (which in the majority of games we deserved), things could have been very different. We played Villa off the park and, despite being poor verses Leeds, had a lot of the play. The Championship is a funny old league and games are often won & lost with fine margins - if we'd had the run of the ball in a few more games this season, we'd have been in a much stronger position and Walter would still be here. That's football.

Ultimately he was found out and struggled tactically at this level. We have some good footballers here but we often started games too slowly and also seemed to be a little unsure of exactly *what* our system was. Zenga didn't correct these issues quick enough (a lot of the time not helped by the individual players), and would have known more than anyone that Fosun were going to be unforgiving owners.

I would genuinely like to see Walter go on and do well somewhere else. I can't imagine that will be in England.

As for our next appointment, I've no issues bringing in another foreign manager. I don't get the "must know the Championship" mentality - go and sign a good manager with a good record and chances are he'll do well.

I would like us to go all out to bring in Silva.

I think its important that whoever becomes the new manager at Wolves is allowed to sign the players of his choice during the next transfer window. With our board making it perfectly clear the manager can buy and sell as he chooses without having to take other peoples opinions.

Keep dreaming, those days are gone.

The funny thing is, our fan base was crying out for a Director of Football/Head Coach set up and then when we get it they want the 'manager' to start signing his own players again.
