Report correctly. The chaos is because they brought in outside contractors to do the Christmas engineering works and they overran. The chaos is because Trans Pennine Express are insisting that train crews only run in small sections of the network and they now need 3 times more drivers/conductors to get a train from Liverpool or Manchester to Newcastle. In the past all drivers knew the whole route but they won’t pay to train them and then expect those that know certain section to work overtime or rest days because they don’t have the staff.

Newtork Rail and the Train Operating Companies are a fucking joke but, yeah, its the rail workers striking that are to blame. Get in the fucking bin!

worked a 9hr shift yesterday and saw 5 trains… 3 Grand Centrals and 2 goods trains. Everyone was back in work and no strikes planned till 2nd Jan but they are warning people not to travel for the next two weeks because of the industrial action across the network
