Man City 0 - 2 Wolves: The Verdict Thread

Took one for Albion too in the Full Members' Cup. Scored.

I am in total awe of how much some of you know about the game and our club, and how well you recall incidents that happened many years ago. BUT I am not backing down. I saw Bully miss chances that a lesser player would have scored, and invariably these happened when he was running in on goal with just the keeper to beat. Not arguing against he liked to hit it early (2nd touch), but when he was 30 yards out with only the keeper in front of him, he would do exactly the same as every other player and run in on the goal. And when that happened - and he had time to think - that is when he hit it at the keeper.

Contrast with Traore who did not panic, showed great composure, and placed both shots perfectly.

Am not talking shite.

I think what has got to people was this "Bully 1 v 1 with the keeper - always missed."

Now that obviously isn't true, he scored in 1 v 1 situations and scored in different ways (early shot, going round the keeper etc). Of course he missed some, infact probably missed a lot of them.

He didn't hit it at the keeper in those situations. He went round the keeper. That was his preferred MO.

Boring again, is this anything to do with Wolves beating the mighty Citeh away just fucking rejoice ffs

He took 2 didn't he? 1 for England B (scored) 1 for Wolves (missed)

jeez, I had in my head he scored one at home vs Oxford but maybe I imagined it, or perhaps he just won the pen.
l may even be wrong about it being Oxford lol

He missed a one on one away at Oxford but that wasnt his fault. Clean through on goal and some fookin idiot Wolves fan decided that was the perfect time to throw the ball that had landed in the away end 5 mins earlier back onto the pitch!

I'm sure he missed a penalty against Sheffield Wednesday at home in the FA Cup? Not the replay with the penalty shoot out.

No, he didn't play in that game. (assuming you meant the game that we didn't win on penalties, as we had 2 ties that went to penalties against Sheff Wed.)

Wolverhampton: Oakes, Bazeley, Pollet, Curle, Naylor, Robinson, Emblen, Sedgley, Sinton, Akinbiyi, Branch.
Subs: Simpson, Osborn, Flo, Corica, Stowell.

Not that one.

Sat 6th Jan 1990 F.A. Cup Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-2 Sheffield Wednesday

Ah, good shout. I have that season review on a VHS somewhere. I don't recall him taking one, but i'm intrigued.

Hit it straight at Chris Turner who just stood still and saved it.

Shirtliff scored the winner for them.

Dennisons Wrong Foot will look at the 34 minute mark, Wolves vs West Ham as evidence to support his claim.

Plenty of examples elsewhere on the video to support everyone else's.
