Man City 0 - 2 Wolves: The Verdict Thread

Needed to trust his left foot. I wouldn't worry about it much, Raul has the same problem (see his chance v Watford at the far post from the Neto cross)
Raul should also have hit it with his left in the first half when he intercepted a square pass running through the left side of the box and had Fernandinho right up behind him. Perfect for a left foot shot but delayed and then slowed down to try and draw a foul.

Have watched MoTD2 three times now + the extended highlights at least twice (well it is raining down here)

The more I see it then the Fernandinho challenge on Raul when he was through should have been a penalty - Fernandinho clearly makes a deliberate bump onto Raul's back as Ederson is advancing which puts him completely off balance. This was not just a coming together of 2 players.

Nah, I don't think that's a pen. You can't just virtually stop in the box and let someone run into you then claim a foul.

Raul should have just shot, he had loads of time.

Not saying that Raul didn't know he was there and (maybe) slowed down a bit, but Fernandinho makes a deliberate move to go into his back.

Accept the point that Raul should have shot earlier - if he had there would be no discussion.

I remember someone doing that to Stephen ward a few years ago - was a corner and the guy ran from the back post to the penalty spot, wards chased him, the guy stopped and wardy went into him - the ref gave a pen too :(

If the ref decided it was then the chicken VAR wouldn't have changed the decision

I’d not seen that - that’s a fantastic photo!
What a fantastic trip to the Etihad. I always tend to search Getty Images and PA Images after a match to see what’s been taken.

It would have been a soft penalty but no worse than the Liverpool one Saturday

My only neg from yesterday is that miss of Cutrone's in the first half. Looks worse every time I see it

If he'd used his left or hit it low with his right it's have gone in, going for the top corner curler was the worst choice he could have made as the ball sat up just as he swung his foot and he got right under it instead. He'll get there, he's integrating quickly, his overall play is getting better by the game and he doesn't look as if he's trying too hard now. I wish that effort against Besiktas had gone in, that would have been a fucking pearler.

I've been impressed with Cutrone. Not sure Raul and him work together as they're pretty similar but that's a good choice to have when a Jota and Neto are back fit.

I thought they looked a lot better together yesterday, I think we'd have scored sooner if Jota had been playing as he'd have really tore them apart but their movement was good and you can see them starting to understand each other. They just needed to look up yesterday instead of running into the box with their heads down. Can't wait to see Cutrone hit proper form.

Frightened the wife and dogs with screams. Twice.

So chuffed for Traore. Would not have put money on him scoring either of those, but very composed finishes, where Bully would probably have missed. Also did I really see Traore winning defensive headers?????

Shame we now have a break but Raul must need one.

Absolutely perfect day - Wolves win, brunch, Texans win, Cowboys lose, treadmill, brownie points from wife, fall asleep watching re-runs of Cheers.

Bully miss? I don't bloody think so......tbh Traore's finishes were excellent, said to my lad as he went clear for the first one, "he's gunna bury this' he just looked very relaxed as he lined it up.
He's won a few headers this season, he really has improved in every area I think, obviously still has a bit to improve on but he's coming along nicely

Bully 1 v 1 with the keeper - always missed. Too much time to think. Traore very composed, especially considering the occasion and how long since his last goal.

That's not how I remember it Bully was fantastic one on one, although he would have took it earlier than Traore did. Where Bully struggled, particularly later in his career was with first touch finishes, snatched at them and then did the slide hand clap

Billy would've buried the first, the second perhaps not.
