Who passed to Jimenez for the first goal?

Shearer spent all of last season bigging us up. So no surprise he was praising us last night

Yep, Shearer loves us. I sometimes think he prefers us to his own Geordie madhouse

Moutinho, I think.
Yeah, straight after Gundogan (?) tried falling over for a free kick just because he went shoulder to shoulder with Joao. The big fanny.

its been a while since I've not skipped the sofa sessions on MOTD, I'm pleased he's been behind us.

Tactical masterclass by Nuno and what he has done with Traore is nothing short of astonishing. Who marks Raheem Sterling out of a game then goes up top and scores 2? Special.

Losing Jimenez or Neves would be bad, losing Nuno and his coaching set-up would be devastating.

Couldn't comment on the game yesterday. Too much of a head rush. Too unbelievable to put into words properly.

Obviously felt the missed chances would cost us. You don't tend to get many at City, they're normally ridiculously tight but these injuries (and not replacing Kompany) have really hurt them at the back. Kudos to Nuno for setting up the way we did, a dour effort would have seen us lose. They couldn't go full guns at us because we always carried a threat.

All I could think of when Adama was going through the first time was "Bright in the League Cup". Had no expectation that he would score. He hasn't even remotely looked like scoring since he netted at West Ham well over a year ago. But brilliant stuff - sat possibly the best keeper in the world on his arse and tucked it away. Then repeated the dose. Though Raul's play on the first is simply magnificent, even allowing for how dreadful Otamendi is (how has he lasted so long at a club like that, baffling).

Midfield worked the best it has all season as a unit - Joao has been magnificent on his own throughout but he's been fighting a lone battle. The other two did what we ask them to yesterday. Long may it continue.

Tactics absolutely spot on, our starting wing backs defended better than they ever have in a Wolves shirt and all the subs were good too.

Boly is just a mountain (again though, why keep crossing it when he's winning everything...you don't often see that from a Pep team) and Coady is back to normal now after a shaky start. Spots danger so well.

We've gone away here to one of the very finest teams in the world, won to nil, scored two and could easily have had five. Unreal.

why keep crossing it when he's winning everything...

Great watching Shearer point out that they had to cross because we made them. Zero room in the middle, so they had to go wide and as soon as they did we cut out the options for passes and they had to cross

I read/heard somewhere that they put 36 crosses in yesterday, despite our obvious height superiority it's superb that not one of those lead to a mistake or someone switching off. Even when it did drop in the middle for a shot there were 1, 2 or 3 players throwing themselves at it. It was such a determined performance!

Our resilience was top class. At least two spells where we were finding it very hard to get out of our own back third (City just don't leave you alone) but we kept our positions brilliantly and didn't let any space open up. Bet you never see City have another game this season bar anyone other than Liverpool where they get in behind so little.

The mental resilience and flexibility to defend like that for much of the game against a team with City's aura and still create (and then take) chances... Phenomenal.

My only neg from yesterday is that miss of Cutrone's in the first half. Looks worse every time I see it

Needed to trust his left foot. I wouldn't worry about it much, Raul has the same problem (see his chance v Watford at the far post from the Neto cross)
