Well it has proved to be true with Jota's injury time equaliser against Palace has truly kicked started Wolves' season, after a rather unconvincing start.
Since then, we've managed to win a League Cup tie (albeit on penalties), a relatively comfortable win against fellow struggler Watford, a clinical (but not overly impressive) win against Besiktas and now the triumph of a superlative win at last season's champions !
The cornerstone has been how rock solid our defence has become again.
So far in 17 competitive games this season we've conceded 17 goals, but 8 of those were in 2 consecutive games (Everton and Chelsea), and we can see in the last few matches that our whole defensive unit is now on song.
Our frontline still isn't quite firing (we could have been 2 or 3 up within 20 minutes against City) but I'm confident with a well earned rest for Raul, a returning Jota and a confident Traore we may start to see a few more chances converted. As for Cutrone it might take the good part of a year for him to fully jell with the team, as we've seen how Nuno's coaching sometimes takes its time with players before they start playing at a level we wouldn't have expected (e.g. Doc, Coady . . . and now Traore).
Maybe we're also seeing the benefits of the backroom staff/prep that is being into the team (refer to Tim's recent article) in which the sports science is second to none - as one thing is for sure, the players are certainly able to run out games very well, with late late goals against Burnley, Palace, Besiktas and now Man City.
It's a great time to be a Wolves supporter !
