Man City 0 - 2 Wolves: The Verdict Thread

That post was clearly 'tongue in cheek'

My apologies to sniffer grouse then, nuances tend to go amiss when skimming through threads. Still, I reiterate my call for everyone to leave out the little digs and interpret others' opinions fairly, there has been a little bit of that going on latlely. Enough of that now, let's move on.

Sadly didn't get to watch the game as it wasn't being broadcast over here. Had visitors too so couldn't very well rummage around the corners of the web for a shady stream (which I have few qualms about paying close to £40 a month to watch the official streams). Eagerly awaiting a detailed review from somone who did watch it, live or on screen!

Just got back, not sure what to say about the game really, just... wow.

I was a bit underwhelmed with the starting line-up, and was pretty worried about Traore and Vinagre being our wing-backs, thought City would seriously take advantage. Nope, not at all. Vinagre a bit shaky at times but both overall defended superbly, and especially in the first half the decision to have Traore as our wing-back was paying serious dividends as he was beating Cancelo (on his wrong side) every time.

Thought Nuno's gameplan worked perfectly here. Sat back yes, but we knew they had a vulnerable, unfamiliar defence and we were very alert and always looking to pounce on any errors that they made especially by Otamendi. Had some good chances in the first half and probably should have scored one of them, Cutrone's chance looked a bad miss.

City always looked threatening as expected but how many clear chances did they have? Not many. They hit the bar, Sterling had a shot well saved by Patricio, and late on after we scored Rui made another really good save from Jesus I think? Otherwise we stifled them pretty well, as well as you can expect from a side of this calibre. Save for one half-chance in injury time Coady marked Aguero completely out of this game, total change from being given the runaround by Tammy Abraham.

Traore went up top as City moved forwards - their line was so, so high by the end - and he was the perfect man to punish them. For once the finishing was on point, and what a time! Jimenez did superbly to set him up.

Disappointing to not see much praise for us online, everyone is saying City slipped up but nobody is paying attention to the fact Nuno's tactics had the beating of Pep and how well every player executed their role. Unbelieveable performance and everyone deserves massive credit, particularly after winning in Turkey just three days ago.

we have now played 5 of the current top 7 and only one defeat.

and beat bottom of the league.

Going to enjoy this international break. Hope to see Raul posting shite from some beach somewhere on instagram this week

It would be hard to rate the players today without giving anything below an 8 because they were all superb, a fantastic defensive display, a top drawer midfield display and scoring aside both forwards played very well. Raul's run and amazing footwork before setting up Traore for his first was amazing, if that had been Tammy fucking Abraham doing that they'd still be raving about it now. And massive, massive props to Nuno for moving Adama forward, an absolute masterstroke.

Listened to the game on five live with the lil one in his car seat and when the second goal went in I almost scared him half to death.

So all in all a pleasing win

I really REALLY hope we fucked up the fantasy football selections of every fucking cunt at radio five live.

I am not listening so you can discuss that shite fucking wankers. Can I make that clear? I want to hear about the real game you fucking cunts.

We did. One of them was moaning about Zinchenko not starting and then another bemoaning the fact that Mahrez was subbed cos he was in his team and had been playing good up until today.

When we got the 2nd the woman co-comms said it was nothing more than we deserved, yet barely mentioned us all game, just kept going on about what City needed to do better all game.

Yeah I was listening in in the way back from rugby, what the hell are they wittering on about fantasy football for, it got almost as much coverage as we did.

Who thinks listening to people bang on about fantasy football is a winner, I for one couldnt care less

Oh and a big shout out to tbe travelling support....on the tv, could only hear the Wolves fans all game

It seems to be a new BBC idea on the games they have radio comms for.

Frankly, that can piss off.
