Anyone hoping Ki-Jana Hoever might have a future at Wolves should watch the Stoke vs Ipswich highlights from today

Lazy bastard

Far bigger questions of the centre half who fell asleep and left the attacker in acres of space rather than However who was miles further up the pitch when the move developed and didn't get back to bail his moron defensive comrade out.

Weekend update:

Ki-Jana Hoever - Stoke City, Championship

Hoever another full game in a 2-0 defeat at Ipswich. Lost out on 50/50 high up the pitch which led the the second and apparently Ipswich did a number on him to stop him getting forward. Seems to have worked.

Chiquinho started but only lasted half an hour. Alex Neil said it was because they needed 'more presence up top'.

Dexter Lembikisa - Rotherham, Championship

Played 81 minutes in a 2-2 draw at home to Blackburn.

Tyler Roberts - Doncaster, League Two

Played the full game in a 4-0 defeat at Newport but did little of note

Theo Corbeanu - Grasshoppers Zurich, Swiss Premier League

Played 84 minutes of a 3-1 defeat at Winterthur.

Louie Moulden - Rochdale, The National League

Kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 win at Oxford City.

Not in squad: Tipton, Lonwijk.

No game: Mosquera

Thanks for the update. Had missed Oxford City had got promoted and were in the National (GM Vauxhall Conference still in my head!)

Its insane they are in the same league as Oldham who are one of only 51 teams to have played in the Premier League in it's Premier format.

Quick update from mid week.

Tyler Roberts came on as a sub on 75 minutes in a 2-2 draw with Mansfield, while Louie Moulden played in a 3-2 loss at Woking - the first came from him messing up a cross. Tipton wasn't in the squad for Notts County's game.

This weekend:

Ki-Jana Hoever - Stoke City, Championship

Played the full game and got an assist for the goal in a 1-0 win at home to Watford, after he whipped a ball in from the right.

Dexter Lembikisa - Rotherham, Championship
A full game in a 2-1 defeat at Sunderland. Played his part in the goal with a smart one-touch pass to tee up the assist for Hakeem Odoffin to score.

Luke Cundle - Plymouth, Championship

Made his debut, playing for an hour in a 2-1 defeat at home to Saints.

Tyler Roberts - Doncaster, League Two

Started a 3-1 defeat at home to Notts County but was then subbed at HT. Created one chance for himself after a beating his man but hit it wide.

Louie Moulden - Rochdale, The National League

Another clean sheet in a 2-0 home win vs Eastleigh.

On as sub: Chiquinho came on for the last 10 minutes or so of Stoke's win.

Not in squad: Tipton, Mosquera.

No game: Corbeanu, Lonwijk.

I watched that game, he was okay and tidy on the ball at times, but he was part of indecision that allowed the first goal, and should have at least got a shot off after a great move, but looked to get hesistent and got crowed out.

For anyone who may see the score without context, Cincy lost the Hell Is Real derby to Columbus, 0-3, but for some reason Yerson wasn't in the squad (no news about him being injured so unsure what's up there).

He's coming home! It's like a new signing. 🤪🤔

Unfortunately I think Cincy have already paid us to keep him until November. Though, it would be very like us to say "we have no money" and then go and spend money on a player who is already ours...

I'm not sure they did pay extra - we just said it was up to them, keep him to June/July or for the whole season, whichever they like - as Lopetegui didn't think we'd need him and presumably wasn't planning on having a squad with three senior centre halves at any stage.

If we did call him back then he needs to be here by 1 September so we can register him in the squad. Pretty sure he's too old now to be counting as an U21.

Still only 21 IIRC? Although U21 status I guess may be about more than simply age.

He was 22 in May. You'd think that would rule him out for a season starting in August 2023 but the rules are ridiculously opaque sometimes. See Raheem Sterling once winning Young Player of the Year when he was 24 and had played in two World Cups and a Euros (more than Paul Gascoigne or Rio Ferdinand played in their entire careers).

Morgan Gibbs-White just won the U21 Euros too and he was 23 in January.
