Loan Watch 2019-2020

Young Connor can handle himself. He was good when he played CM for us under Lambo (albeit he was alongside some real shitehawks so maybe he just looked a load better than he actually is)

We probably still need a new attacking central midfield player who can offer something different. If that's the case then it'll depend if the club rate Ronan over MGW, if not then there wont be any point bringing him back.

I'd argue he's not the same kind of player.

It will be interesting to see what kind of player he is when he comes back. Is he a midfielder in the Moutinho mould or is he an attacking midfielder, in which case I don't think he's ever going to be a success at Wolves given how we play. I hope it's the former and solves a problem we may have in midfield later in the season with tiredness.

Yeah, let’s send a 19 year with a load of top flight appearances off to some obscure Eastern European team [emoji854]

Yeah, when you put it like that

I'd still like MGW to get regular game time though

Will Norris didn't play last night. I presume he's picked up a knock unless he's suddenly been relegated to third choice. Let's hope it doesn't put that England call-up in doubt.

Regarding Ronan, he's definitely a fixture in the DAC side and seems to play deeper than he did for us. At what level of quality you'd put the Slovakian top flight though is anyone's guess.

They're competing with Slovan Bratislava at the top of the league, that's the only real frame of reference we have.

From this weekend:

Ivan Cavaleiro - Fulham, The Championship.

Played in two full games in three days. The first one against QPR where he hit the post in first half, although he didn’t score or assist. That changed tonight however with a lovely touch for Fulham’s third in their win over Derby.

Will Norris - Ipswich Town, League One.

Back in the starting line-up on Saturday in a 2-2 draw at home to Blackpool. Couldn’t do much to prevent the two goals, with one being blasting in from close range after rebounding off a post and the other a penalty. Must have done something to annoy Lambo though - he was on the bench again tonight.

Connor Ronan - DAC Streda, Slovak Superleague

Played 90 minutes of a 5-0 loss. They were five down at half-time so it could have been worse I suppose.

On as sub: Ryan Giles came on after 57 minutes and the Shrews drew level from 3-1 down shortly after - they still conceded a late winner though. Rafa Mir came on for the last few minutes in a goalless draw at Bristol City.

Unused sub: Diallo, Johnson, Dadashov

Not in squad: Bright,Ennis, John, Miranda, Herc, Wang.

No game: Bonatini.

A belated update from last weekend:

Ivan Cavaleiro - Fulham,The Championship.

Played 85 minutes of a 2-1 win at Swansea. Passed the ball across the box for Mitrovic to score the opener then forced a fine save with a swerving shot later on.

Will Norris - Ipswich Town, League One.

Cup heartbreak for Will in Coventry (Birmingham). Had a good game including a superb save near the end to keep his side 1-0 up but then conceded an equaliser in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

Cameron John - Doncaster Rovers, League One.

In the starting line-up for the first time in a good while and didn’t have the happiest of returns, with his team losing 3-0 at Gillingham. Made a hash of clearing header for the first but played the full game. Was left out of the squad mid-week but that might just be managing his injury.

Ryan Giles - Shrewsbury, League One.

An unused sub last week but was given a start in the Leasing Trophy against Man City U21s. Played the full game in which Scott Golbourne scored only for City to equalise. Onto penalties, Giles didn’t take one but Golbourne missed his meaning City won the tie.

Roderick Miranda - Famalicao, Portuguese Primeira Liga

A full game as his side lost 2-1 away.

Leo Bonatini - Vitoria Guimaraes, Portuguese Primeira Liga

An unused sub in the league but then started in the League Cup mid-week and got a brace.

Connor Ronan - DAC Streda, Slovak Superleague

Played 90 minutes and got an assist in a 1-0 win.

On as sub: Rafa Mir came on for the last ten minutes in a 1-0 defeat at home to Cardiff.

Unused sub: Johnson.

Not in squad: Bright, Ennis, Dadashov, Herc, Wang.

No game: Diallo

Rafa Mir has started for Forest, not that you'd know if you're watching the game

Dont think Forest crossed the half way line in the first half. He look utterly fucked off.

Should have been booked in the 2nd half. Then subbed and within 30 seconds his replacement scored

Forest fans were pretty annoyed with him on Twitter last night. One called him 'one of the worst Forest players I've ever seen'.

Bear in mind they had Marlon Harewood too.

Ouch.

He has been really shit for them.

Won’t be making it with us.

SCENES in the Portuguese Prem as Leo scores again for Vitoria S.C. His provider? Ola John.

Rodders scored yesterday, too.

Rodders goal was set up by ex-wolf Pedro Goncalves

Ivan Cavaleiro - Fulham, The Championship.

Started at home to Bristol City and nearly scored within the first ten minutes, being sent through on goal only to have his shot cleared off the line. Had a couple more chances but couldn’t score and so it added up to a frustrating game as his side lost 2-1 and he was subbed towards the end.

Rafa Mir - Nottingham Forest, The Championship.

Handed a rare start and made a hash of it. Put in a lacklustre display and was lambasted by Forest fans on social media. Subbed in the second half.

Will Norris - Ipswich Town, League One.

Made a quick return to Coventry St. Andrews and played in another 1-1 draw. Made a good save from a 25 yard rasper but then conceded shortly after with the shot flying in underneath his body.

Cameron John - Doncaster Rovers, League One.

Played the full game at home to Franchise FC. Scored the equaliser, which was a little fortunate after his team-mate’s header rocketed in off his knee.

Sadou Diallo - Accrington Stanley, League One.

Started at Tranmere and played the full game of a 1-1 draw. Tested the keeper from range who saved well.

Roderick Miranda - Famalicao, Portuguese Primeira Liga

Played the full game in a 3-2 defeat at home. Maybe could have done better with the second goal conceded but scored a good header on the run following a set-piece. Heartbreak in the 96th minute though, with his defence left at sea to concede the winner.

Leo Bonatini - Vitoria Guimaraes, Portuguese Primeira Liga

Handed a start and bagged one early doors, a tap-in thanks to some superb footwork (including two nutmegs) from the effervescent Ola John. Subbed on 83 minutes.

Goal at the start:

Connor Ronan - DAC Streda, Slovak Superleague

A full game in a 2-0 defeat at Slovan Bratislava.

Unused sub: Giles, Johnson, Dadashov

Not in squad: Bright, Herc.
