Let's talk about Nuno....

Well that's pretty crap too, but we all know that with better finishing he'd have about 5 more, 2 crosses v Leicester should have been buried for a start.

Neto has 4 goals and 4 assists this season (from PL website) so 8 goal involvement. PL website lists Adama as 0 assists, so that would be 0 goal involvements for him

No-one's denying Adama's having a bad season, but he's not the only one. If it's about stats Otasowie has an assist this year yet everyone has a big guffaw at Cyber when he puts him in his midfield.

Adama's performances can't be measured in just stats either, whether it's his direct contribution to the two goals at the Emirates or winning the penalty v Brighton, it's not as if he's just standing round on the pitch affecting nothing.

Don't forget also, the majority of Neto and Podence's goals and assists came before Raul was even injured, during which time Adama was coming off the bench. Since then Pod has one goal and Neto (our best player this season) one goal and two assists. It's hardly as if they're killing it compared to Adama either.

And I think we'd all find assists hard to come by if we were aiming balls at a crowded-out teenager or bloody Donk!

Adama's only assist is winning the penalty at Brighton (which doesn't count in the PL stats, it should though).

He has been fucking dreadful, why are people pretending otherwise? Probably our worst player all season.

In his first season he had 1 goal and 1 assist. Let's not make out this is a blip for Adama. He had a purple patch last season. On his day, he is devastating and unplayable, but they are extremely rare

Looking more like his purple patch was the blip in his career, not the averageness of before and since, was it mentioned on here that Pulis at Middlesbrough used to make him swap sides so he'd be near the bench so they could constantly tell him what to do?

Weelll, I think Nuno should be given at least till November to see if he can turn it round

As harsh as this sounds I think he has until the end of the season to show some signs of progression with the squad and playing style. If it starts to look promising (not just performances like the dour 0-0 against Chelsea) then great but if it's the same old stuff and the same old press conferences then it's time for a new direction and say thanks to the greatest manager at Wolves in my lifetime.

Collectively all the players have been shite to one degree or another (except for Neto). Adama is the player who looks the most shit because he doesn't have the fundamentals to fall back on. I wonder how much the Covid restrictions are having collectively, my understanding is that the team can't train and socialise like they used to (all teams have the same restrictions before anyone jumps in). We've had more muscle / strain injuries than we've ever had before - it could be a coincidence though.

I'm a bit wary about making too many big decisions until things get more normal.

I'm all for fair criticism of him this season, but do we have to resort to revisionism of last season too? And another way to look at it is to say he was Middlesbrough's best player and they reluctantly sanctioned a move to the PL

From Ian Cathro's Wiki Page

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers said that there appeared to be a "confused" approach at Hearts, with a mismatch between the style of play Cathro wanted to implement and the type of players signed by the club.

Probably me looking for excuses for Nuno, but you do hear noises about his influence

So where does his first season with us sit?

Is it worth wasting my time and derailing the thread further when minds have already been made? I think we've all said enough tbh

I'll be more concerned about Nuno if the performance on Sunday is anything like the one last night. By all means we were lots better against Leicester - I agree maybe that shouldn't have been disrupted last night and we should have fielded the same team, but had Neto got his leg broken we'd have been dragging Nuno's name through the dirt then too...

I’m perfectly happy to blame everything on Cathro tbh 😄

I’m all (and really mean it) for selling Traore as I just find these endless discussions really dull.

Sell him, or go all villa talk and reopen the Traore thread. This is just shit.
