Please expand. Our strikers haven't been this prolific this century iirc. Afobe finished season top scorer with 9. Don't look at Dicko and Bod. Doyle found double figures hard to get. Web hit 14. Iwulumo similar. Bonatini 9 in 15 is the best I can remember in 30 years. Happy to be corrected though. Don't count league one. DW Lucan and PLF would have scored in that league with that squad, hell I would have scored and I play in goal!

Surely SEB in 2007-2009 was as prolific?

I don't have the will or the desire to research another of your made up theories, but from the top of my head Sturridge, Miller, SEB (back to back Championship golden boots 1.5 seasons of those with Wolves) Dicko, and Griffiths in League 2, Afobe 3 years ago Big Chris at the same stage of the season as Bonatini now, have all had good goals to games ratios this century and your own term of reference is 30 years so you can add Bull, Mutch and Keane to that.

Afobe hit 13 in 21 appearances in his first half season at the club (January - May)
SEB scored 25 in our promotion season. He also got 12 in 20 games in his first half season at the club (January - May)
Miller got 19 in 02-03 and in 04-05
Sturridge got 21 in 29 appearances in 01-02

In League one Griffiths got 12 in 26 games and Dicko 12 in 19

So in 17 years i.e. this century, we have had a 20 goals a season striker twice ? Its not a made up theory you twerp! I just said how good it was that 2 strikers are near double figures before November. I couldn't be arsed to research if or when we had that last, but couldn't remember. Sometimes you look for things when they are not there Dave Mackay of Derby. Thanks trips for the stats.

Few of those can be played around with to weaken your argument.

I make that only 4 seasons that have really underperformed, the rest have extenuating circumstances.
