Giro d'Italia / Tour de France

Apparently she too a 5ft piece of cardboard to say hello to her grandparents

Massive pile up in stage one caused by a “supporter” more interested in trying to get their banner on TV than watching the riders. Idiot should face consequences for their stupidity.

The Gendarmerie are after her (up to a year in prison), and the Tour have said they intend to sue. For some reason she disappeared after causing the crash, I cannot fathom why...

G stacks it and dislocates shoulder, maybe rib injuries as well; Gesink out following the same tarmac-based contretemps.

Van der Poel's machine is sex wee-inducing.

It looks as though bike handling, concentration, reaction speed and positioning are going to determine the outcome of the Tour as much as anything.

I'm hoping for a relatively uneventful stage today and that Cav will get a chance in a sprint at the finish.

Special win, absolutely made up for him and quite a few more opportunities still to come.

Looking at the route if he can get over the lumps and wins every pure sprint stage (into Carcassonne will be a breakaway as it always is) he could break the record on the final stage in Paris.

Watching the Eurosport highlights. I am doing today’s recipe from the Indre region. Steak in pink peppercorn sauce. The recipes every day are a properly quirky high point of their coverage.

Not cooking it tonight but that is into my list to do. I have a Larrousse Gastronomique to make sure I get the finer details.

Get over the Ventoux twice tomorrow within the limit and he has every chance of breaking the record before the second rest day

I think 35 is on, as long as Bike Exchange don't ride him out of the race (and who he was not at all complimentary about when stating that during his rest day interview) today.

Incredible. Get over the Pyrenees and then the stage up towards Mourenx could be the record. It’s pan flat.

2022 route for the tour released and it looks a doozy. Really looking forward to the Bastille Day stage - Briançon - Galibier, Croix de fer - Alpe d’Huez. Plus Hautacam returns in the Pyrenees and they have found a higher finish as there is a climb to “Super” Planche des Belle Filles.

Stonking

Fucking bizarre day yesterday. Brilliant first stage victory for a black African for Biriam Girmay of Eritrea. Unfortunately, he popped the Prosecco and fired the cork straight into his own eye and has to retire from the race.
