Giro d'Italia / Tour de France

Did you spot the stage that ends on an unclassified climb? No points as the climb is too short but it is thirty fucking percent!

Not sure if it's that one or the Angliru, but they were walking up one of them last year.

Girls ;-)

I think it was that one. Seem to remember it is a ramp up into a medieval city. Rodriguez won the stage from froome but it was insane.

Angliru is just horrific. Makes ventoux look like a gentle ride through the park.

Bit rough on Horner today, given the time gap compared to yesterday. Not that he looked too bothered.

The Mirador today was the climb from last year, 23%

The one coming up is 29-30%. In the stage after the Alto de Blanca out back of Estepona. Sunday I think, maybe Monday. Literally only a kilometre or two, but it will be carnage. Mirador is a beast, but not at 30k from the finish.

The commissaires were completely inconsistent to find a time gap today when they didn't yesterday. Very poor in my view.

Oh totally agree. To break for 175k and get caught on the line is just a terrible shame for the bloke.

today is the day of that lunatic ramp in the last kilometre. Going to be fun stuff.

Nicolas Roche was awesome yesterday up the Las Blancas. Nice to see the race went past a place a stayed in Estepona during the 2002 world cup on the way through yesterday as well.

Fernando Alonso is buying a soon to be defunct cycling team it seems.

That would be Askadi Euskaltel I guess. Spanish team and due to pull out the sport at the end of the year due to lack of sponsorship.

That would make him even more popular in Spain than he is now. That team grew out of the Banesto team that Indurain and Pedro Delgado dominated. Hugely popular in the basque region and usually filled with Spanish mountain goats.

I've no idea about cycling, just something I saw on a Ferrari forum. I know he's a huge cycling enthusiast.

Not surprised as he was born in Oviedo. That is massive cycling country.

I see that a lot of tems struggle for sponsorship, any reason for this Paddy?
