FA Cup: Wolves 2-1 Man Utd - Verdict thread

Nah, apart from the first 20 mins it was similar to the Cardiff game :)

Watching in a pub in London with 1 other Wolves fan surrounded by united fans, absolutely incredbile. What a time to be alive.

Moutinho motm, perfect all game.

We were absolutely comfortable. Against Manchester United. I cannot believe how loud Molineux was last night. Deafening

Raul turns and scores while surrounded by four Man U players

The best is he was trying to pass it back to Jonny to shoot, only when it rebounded off Pogba did he decide to turn and shoot, he must make decisions at a Matrix level speed :)

Man U created next to nothing..second half we really started to show that we can play football also not just defend and counter attack..we have many ways of playing and all credit to Nuno in who we trust..only thing we should work on is how to win comfortably against bottom clubs which park the bus. Many big clubs have the same problem though and thats the hardest one to break.

just watched the highlights.......again and noticed Jiminez celebration, was that a tribute to Bully or does he always do the aeroplane thing>

Reminded me of Bully too

Seen some comments that Raul's celebration is a Mexico thing? As in, a reference to the eagle on the flag?

It's saying something when we go into games against big teams expecting to win. I said it to a Man Utd fan I was having dinner with before the game- Wolves will win 2-1.
I really regret not backing it now.

When Jota finished I just burst into tears. I can't believe we've just absolutely deserved to beat Manchester United in the FA Cup QF, and 2-1 really flattered them. Its absolutely mental. Incredible performance. Moutinho for that first goal ffs :icon_lol: what a side we've got here. What a side. Gutting that my time as a season ticket holder is all behind me because you lot are absolutely privileged right now

I backed 2-1 Wolves! However I backed it with Jota as the first scorer!

Even woke up without a hangover this morning. It's a Christmas Miracle!

Back down from cloud nine now.

There were some negatives, I didn't enjoy pre-match at all for once (too busy, way too hot and the pub totally fucked up with messing around with the seating and allowing "reserved" tables) and in the ground it was apparent that some of those who aren't normally around had been on something stronger than alcohol (and of course, there were tons of people absolutely caned on booze). From that point of view it wasn't a particularly nice atmosphere at times. Also the first half as a spectacle was poor, I accept that it is partly our gameplan to take the sting out of a game early on against the big teams but there was precious little quality or serious action on show (as much their fault as ours).

But all that is wiped out by that second half. We were incredible. Absolutely tore them apart, it was like watching us play Burton or Reading from last season, they couldn't lay a glove on us and we constantly looked like scoring. Moutinho can have my MOTM but it could have been any of them (bar Ruddy, through no fault of his own as he basically had nothing to do). I go into these games now knowing that we have a chance, not fearing a defeat or in the worst days of Mick/TC, hoping we keep the score down if nothing else. We're equals. City and Liverpool are the two best teams in the country then there's a group of five which includes us. And we're going to add to this squad.

Fantastic stuff.

Something I really wasn't keen on yesterday was the ropey dolly birds with wolfie in the centre circle just before kick off. Can't imagine high heels will help the pitch either. Looked very talksport League one-ish.

Yep, another red card incident that makes Boly's red card look very harsh. Last night was a red card all night long. Fuck VAR, I'm dreading it, in our favour or not

We made the decision to drink out of town beforehand. Looks like we made the right choice and breezed to the ground in no time just before kickoff.

Town was fine, the Royal London dropped a bollock by allowing people to reserve tables. Those people then got pissed off when we stood behind them. The fucking idiots.

There was a good atmosphere in there though, plenty of singing and not a hint of any trouble.

That sounds terrible. Got any pictures?

Two guys behind me just wouldn't stop moaning all match, I thought the guy next to them was going to throw them down the stairs at one point...and I kinda wish he did.
