FA Cup: Wolves 2-1 Man Utd - Verdict thread

I’m so fucking happy.

Neves MOTM for me. But literally any of them could have been

You really have a hard on for Neves Louie!

Same last week against Chelsea.

It’s almost as if I thought he was the best player for us in both games...

Moutinho. Immense.
Neves, Jota, jiminez not far off either.
Pinch me I am fucking dreaming!

This game is the classic blueprint from Nuno and the team against the Sky 6.

First half - soak up the pressure/opposition possession denying them any real clear cut chances whilst posing a real threat on the counter-attack.

Second half - more of the same, but the team/squad are so well drilled and so fit that as the game goes further on Wolves become more likely to score and take the lead/match.

So in consecutive weeks Wolves have managed to draw at Chelsea (only being denied a win due to a world-class strike in injury time); and of course against Man Utd at home, totally nullified their threat whilst being the more threatening resulting in as comfortable 2-1 win as you will ever see.

After decades of being a 2nd rate team, to finally see the club hitting levels most here could only dream of, it just makes me so proud to be a supporter of the club.

Can't believe the amount of time Neves had in the middle and the amount of space Doherty had, Was like a lot of last seasons matches.

Just a word of caution

Conceding a few late goals this year. One to watch and sort. The only very small negative but it needs saying. Soz. Off to the box of shame

Neves was fantastic today - it’s great seeing someone with such technical ability absolutely working his arse off, fantastic footballer

Cup Semi will be a few games after the Utd league game, can see Nuno adopting Mick's United approach from a decade ago for that one.
Moutinho motm

Jota could have had his leg broke. Horrendous turn around by VAR.

Love it. They were all immense.

Hoarse as all fuck, don't care.

The roof nearly came off the place when the 2nd went in.

We have no reason to fear ANYONE.

Just got back after a sift couple of celebratory pints.
Great atmosphere great performance really struggling to believe its all real We're going to Wembley (Twice)

This is what success tastes like. I need more before I pop my clogs

Thank you Nuno & team. This is a special night!

25 years watching this lot, one of the best tonight, maybe the best with the context of where we are right now and what it could become. When I was a kid games like this, seeing us at Wembley, seemed like a distant dream. Guess I won’t be the only one feeling a bit emotional tonight!

I caught myself leaving tonight pissed off we'd let Man United score in the final seconds of added time. It obviously evaporated but this is SURREAL. It's like a football manager twilight zone.

What a fucking side. Warriors the lot of them. Absolutely beasted them. They could have had no complaints if it ended up 4-1. Neves and Moutinho put a clinic on, it's a privilege to have these boys.

Absolutely superb, thay team performance was magnificent tonight. Hard to pick a stand out performer. A fantastic night and up there with the best of them. Their fans started leaving at 1-0.

So so proud of this team and to be a Wolves supporter.

Thank Fosun for Nuno!

Wolves, elegant and fierce, advanced to the FA Cup semi-final for the first time in 21 years and Manchester United could do nothing to stop them. First Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s men were frustrated by their hosts, then they were taken apart. Goals from Raúl Jiménez and Diogo Jota confirmed Wolves’ superiority over their illustrious visitors.

Marcus Rashford’s strike in stoppage time changed nothing other than inconsequential statistics, halving Wolves’ margin of victory and doubling United’s tally of shots on target from a match in which they had a lot of the ball but were never in control. Wolves created the clearest opportunities and might have inflicted a truly embarrassing scoreline if not for some terrific saves by United’s goalkeeper Sergio Romero.

:vuz:

Absolutely marvelous performance by the entire team. Moutinho, Raul, and Jota all were excellent but Neves was outstanding, so he's my MOTM. Romero was easily the best Man Utd player, saving at least three goals; but as a team, Man U were regularly outplayed. I really do believe that Wolves can go the whole way and win the Cup. That would be wonderful. I remember when they beat Blackburn 3-0 in 1960—the only FA Cup Final I've attended. I hope some of you guys get to enjoy this year's final. For me, I'll be watching on TV, as I do all Wolves' games.

What a game, result deserved to be 3-0 or 4-0, flukey goal st the end, Romero was world class (how hes agreeing to stay on the bench), and I thought the red card was deserved too. Best game ive seen in a while, we were fucking superb.
Motm too hard to pick, everyone was really good, moutinho first half and raul second maybe..

Still buzzing and a bit hungover

Outplayed outthought outclassed Man U in every department
