Everton 0-1 Wolves: Verdict Thread

And they've all completely forgotten that FFP is a thing in the Championship, and I cant see them having any wriggle room with it at all.

You get a free shot for a year on FFP when you get relegated, basically. Then effectively another year before your accounts catch up.

It's why Bournemouth absolutely 100% need to go back up this year or they are all kinds of screwed. Same with Albion next season (good luck with that with Bruce in charge)

I'd love DCL at Wolves, could see him ending up at Spurs as Kane's replacement though, if he ends up leaving of course.

Yes, but given that their losses for 2020 were something like £135 million, that makes everyone else look like they're rolling in it. Even Villa weren't anywhere near that.

That's the real hole they have to cover before even thinking about relegation costs.

If we are staying with 1 up top DCL is the player we need to succeed Raul. Would need a thorough medical though because when players come back, miss games, come back, miss games it's a red flag

Christ no. I wouldn't touch him with a bargepole

Yeah DCL when playing at his best is brilliant to watch. When he was scoring freely last season I watched him for spells in games and the ball just stuck to him and he won everything. Class player if he can get back to playing injury free for a while.

Raul Jimenez: 107 (6) Premier League appearances, 40 goals
Dominic Calvert-Lewin: 113 (43) Premier League appearances, 42 goals

Not that many of DCL goals will be penalties either, and he's nearly six years younger.

And he's decent in the air too. He'd be a great pair with Raul up top.

I think it was the Watford game where Jacqui oatley said we cross less in the air now to Jimenez due to him not being able to head as well. Dunno if it's true or not but feels like a problem if it is

DCL would be ideal as a replacement.

Lage has managed to come up with that brilliant theory on his own (based on Raul missing a header vs Brentford at home) and now Raul himself thinks it too, which I'm sure you'll agree is superb management.

We haven't got a prayer of getting DCL for the record.

Could it be that the headband acts as a cushion which makes his headers less effective?

On the subject of DCL, he’s due in court tomorrow for something or other according to Twitter, may explain his lack of minutes recently.

could see him at West Ham if they make Europe

Marcal is a lot like Dendoncker for me. I don't worry about him costing us anything (not since that stupid pen he gave away, at least), but he's not going to offer much more.

I still think he is one of the best crossers we have, he just never gets in a position to make use of that. Put in an early cross in the first half yesterday that was lovely but no one was there to meet it.
Was about to say I will be steadfast in my defence of Donk, not so much Marcal.

Strip it back though, I guess there is worse fourth choice fullbacks about. I’d like to think if semedo, Jonny and RAN were fit for a sustained period his game time would be minimal

Not sure if it’s been posted - but the video of the players going off and Coady picking up that kid is great to see.

With where the club is now etc and if we stay where we are over the next few years, would Coady go down as a wolves legend?
