He would definitely have been in the eleven. Down to Southgate to make a decision on a replacement.
That late sub falls down if the ball doesn't go out or the game isn't stopped though. We wanted to bring Miranda on at Man City as he is decent at them and took a few for Rio Ave. He was ready to come on after 117 mins but the game carried on until FT and he couldn't take part in the shoot out.
Good point Billy. Who would our five be?
Kane (nailed on)
Vardy (???? He's got to be on the pitch first)
Alli (doesn't take them for Spurs)
Rashford (no idea, again might not be on the park)
Dier (I suppose, hits a decent ball)
Hart's been in a shootout for England at Euro 2012 in the quarter finals. We lost.
I'm not taking the cackhanded bastard on the basis that he sometimes saves penalties at possibly a greater rate from a small sample size over someone else. He's been bloody awful this season. Not that I think it matters who the third choice keeper is, they'll never play, I just don't want Southgate to be tempted to play him.
What if you've already used your subs?
I would suggest we put more emphasis on training to score penalties, than holding back a sub keeper.
Yep I get all that. But taking Hart as a penalty specialist could give a psychological advantage. Therefore it's worth it imho
