having spoken to my Chinese supplier the Chinese have a handle on this, the virus has peaked and they are, in the main, under control with new cases down to single figures across a country with a billion citizens.
Now we may be following a curve of infection data and for the most part people are being sensible. Reading this thread you would think we are going into an apocalyptic situation. This is clearly overblown rubbish.
The infection rate is being kept low by sensible behaviour and much like any illness, if you feel rubbish the advice is to stay home. This has been the same since forever for any illness.
The media's 24 hour rolling misery isn't helping nor is the misinformation on social media. I listened to the R4 programme a few days ago and the experts saying that any response is too late and it was best to look for statistical choke points rather than blanket banning everything which helps nobody and just delays the virus spread. Like any flu type virus the statistical models vary and getting a handle on different strains is the key. It was fascinating stuff. The statistical website gives up to date stats on reported cases and they are pretty low for the UK in comparison to the population.
We have to be careful we do not give too much power to the hysterical and to date I think the government are doing a decent job. Locking down the country as has been advocated on here is nonsense and overblown panic.
