Nice idea Denmark

Looks like Hancock is being prepared as the sacrifice now that public and press criticism is, unlike testing, ramping up.

Likely far more infections circulated by toilet roll hoarders and the supermarket obsessives.

No chance schools will be out that long, my lads a teacher and he seems to think there's a small chance they'll be back in June but more likely September

They'll open in June in some form but it won't be school as we know it - more of a glorified child care facility. September might be a possibility for 'normal' school but even then it will be with masks and a lot more online learning.

Majority of our school minibuses being used by until June by the council to transport loaders(the blokes at the back who load the bins)and follow bin lorries because three in a cab is a complete no no,so schools not back until at least June

From the ONS

There were 18,516 deaths registered in England and Wales in the week to 10 April, based on the provision figures. That is 2,129 more than the previous week, and 7,996 more than the five-year average.
Coronavirus was a factor in 33.6% of all deaths that week, up from 21.2% in the previous week.

Staggering figures and no doubt the reason why temporary morgues are being set up across the country.

Well this is hideous, but not at all surprising.

This should be far bigger news really shouldn't it?

Yes it should be. There needs to be something done about this from the tech companies to government, this type of propaganda on people's actual pictures that have been stolen should be prosecutable.

77 deaths here today. Worst day so far. 67 in the east of the country, 4 in the west, 4 in the north west and 2 in the south.

Awful times,

Glimmer of home is that new infections are only at 2.5 to 3% over the last few days, so hopefully the peak has passed, seem to be on top of it apart from the residential homes.

And when political point scoring has began to build up a steady momentum it is also useful to point out that it is a waste of time and money investigating spurious correlations - highlighted by the fact there are more cases of covid-19 in local authorites like Birmingham (2310) (where a football game/ horse racing festival didn't take place) than Liverpool (1145) and Gloucester (934) combined.

Death by eviction, homelessness and starvation or death from CV-19. Tough call

Which sort of explains why the theory of ' herd immunity ' was initially mooted. In the days before hindsight was a beautiful thing.

Well that's a bit silly, people travel from all over the UK and Ireland to visit Cheltenham.

Do YOU think Cheltenham should have taken place? Do YOU think people from a heavily infected Madrid should have been able to travel through our airports and to the Liverpool game?

So someone at the govt set up 128 fake accounts supportive of their strategy. Not scary or sinister at all. Putin and Trump play book.
Or someone elses.....

It's being pursued by the journalist that initially found out about this case, he has contacted the Govt for comments who first declined to comment, and then started threatening court action for spreading unsubstantiated falsehoods. He knows who it is registered the accounts and the people that have been controlling them. It's not new tactics, it's been going on for a while, but this time, they've used real NHS people as sock puppets and not made any coding errors. The story won't die, but I doubt it will get real mass coverage until the legal position is settled. Theyve been up to it for a while

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, and the Cheltenham argument gets thrown around easily. 3 days before Cheltenham started we had 30k+ at Molineux, I dont know anyone who skipped that game over coronavirus fears. Many of us would have been going out to watch the West Ham game after Cheltenham if Arteta hadn't fallen ill.

Good job no midlands club has played any Spanish clubs in Europe I guess, could have been much worse really.

Population of Gloucester is only 128k. That’s a bit of an outlier.

Wolverhampton has 581 cases in a population of 252k, which is pretty much bang in line with Liverpool and Brum.

I would imagine that a large % of those attending Cheltenham are from outside of the area. Figures for Lancashire look high so is it possible that a large amount from the wider Lancashire area attended the game?

I agree that an investigation is probably not required given the spread of the disease anyway.
