Wolves Loan Watch 2025/2026

From the weekend:

Nasser Djiga - Rangers, SPL
Played 101 minutes in the 3-1 cup semi-final defeat at Celtic. Clattered an attempted clearance off his team mate which looped in for an OG for the first.

Tommy Doyle - Birmingham City (Championship)
Played the full game as Blues beat Portsmouth 4-0 at home. Whipped in the corner from the left to get an assist for the second.

Nigel Lonwijk - Luton Town (League 1)
Played the full game in a 4-3 FAC 1st round win vs Forest Green. Luton were cruising at 3-0 up against Robbie Savage's side, from two leagues below them, when they just switched off and our Nigel played a big part. First he almost let the forward in with a silly diving back-pass header, then he got done way too easily on the right for the first goal. For the third, he made a hash of a clearance that went straight to the opposition.

Hayden Carson - Chester FC (National League North)
Played the full game in a 3-0 FAC defeat at Cambridge.

James Storer - Greenock Morton (Scottish Championship)
Played in yet another 1-1 draw, this time at Raith.

Arthur Nasta - Hornchurch FC (National League South)
Played in a 2-1 win at Torquay. Made a great reaction save to keep his team in the lead.

On as sub: Traore came on for the last 15 minutes or so of Metz's 2-0 win at Nantes.

Unused sub: Lembikisa, Kaladjzic

Not in squad: Griffiths, Benjamin.

No game: Lima

Sasa getting little game time these past few months.

Around an hour's play since 5th October, almost a month ago. Not great is it?

Whilst also getting those famous top notch state of the art facilities to nurse him back to full fitness.

Excellent.

Just surprised that they're not even bringing him on for 10 minutes here and there . He looked ok for us when we brought him on for substitute appearances - albeit blowing hard at the end , but that is a match fitness thing one assumes , which surely must be improving .

Traore loan seems concerning too, was he injured and returning as he had been missing the squads previously?

are any of our current loaned out players available to return to the club in january ?

I don’t think any of them would be close to the first team despite us being woeful.
I'd be tempted to play Jimmy Storer instead of any of the three shitehawks we currently have to choose from.

From mid-week:

Nasser Djiga - Rangers, SPL
Played the full game on the right of a back 3 as Rangers lost 2-0 at home to Roma in the Europa League. Lost his man on a corner for the opener, terrible marking. Rangers bottom of the league with 4 defeats out of 4.

Tommy Doyle - Birmingham City (Championship)
Played 89 minutes as Blues notched up another 4-0 home win, this time vs Millwall. Did well to win the ball early on then charge forward and curl a low shot just past the post.

Hayden Carson - Chester FC (National League North)
Played the full game in a 1-1 draw at home to Marine.

Arthur Nasta - Hornchurch FC (National League South)
Played in a 1-1 draw at home to Chesham. Made a hash of a punch off a corner which gifted Chesham their goal.

Not in squad: Benjamin.

Sounds like Doyle had established himself in their first team now and has played a part in their uptick of form. Not sure he'll ever be premier league level but should be useful if we do go down.

I think Blues have a deal in place to sign him permanently.

Depends what Rob thinks I suppose, Vitor clearly didn't rate him at all.

From last weekend (and a bit of mid-week)

Tommy Doyle - Birmingham City (Championship)
Played the full game of their 2-1 defeat at Middlesbrough.

James Storer - Greenock Morton (Scottish Championship)

Played in a 1-0 win vs Arbroath

Hayden Carson - Chester FC (National League North)
Played the full game in a 2-1 win at Buxton then a 2-2 draw at Southport.

Arthur Nasta - Hornchurch FC (National League South)
Played in both a 1-0 win at Tonbridge and a 2-0 defeat at Chelmsford, their first league defeat of the season although they still sit 6 points clear.

On as sub: Sasa played the last 20 minutes of LASK's 1-0 home win vs Altach - had a downward header saved at point-blank range by the keeper. Boubacar Traore played the last 15 minutes of Metz's 2-1 win vs Nice.Djiga came on for the last 10 minutes or so of Rangers' 3-0 win at Dundee, while Lembikisa played a similar amount of time for Lincoln in a 3-0 defeat at his former club Rotherham.

Unused subs: Lonwijk

Not in squad: Benjamin, Griffiths

Sasa finally getting time on the pitch - great to see , and he made an impact as well . Maybe it's just a match fitness issue , you don't want to push yourself too hard for fear of that dreadful injury returning , so it might take longer than it normally would for the fitness to return .

Quick update from the weekend:

Hayden Carson - Chester FC (National League North)
Played the full game in a 1-0 FA Trophy defeat at home to Clitheroe, who play two leagues below them in the Northern Premier League.

James Storer - Greenock Morton (Scottish Championship)
Played in a 3-0 win at Ross County.

Arthur Nasta - Hornchurch FC (National League South)
Made two saves in an FA Trophy to help Hornchurch into the second round following a goalless draw.

Unused sub: Lonwijk.

Not in squad: Lembikisa, Griffiths, Benjamin.
