Wolves / Covid-19

I am fully behind that way of deciding the league.

So much better that cramming in games that could be unsafe and results from 1 full round of games is perfect. Plus a couple of lolz to be had

I'd love to get football back, but getting a Champions League spot and relegating the Villa would be a fine tonic.

Makes sense, takes care of all that easier / harder game problem you have with 9 games left

Except not every team had played every team once. We hadn't played Liverpool, but had City twice.
It won't happen.

They could just create a table based on the results from the first time each team played each other.

Shit idea. Never liked it from the word go

I don't care what happens as long as we get back into Europe as we are still in and haven't been eliminated.

Relegating the Villa as collateral damage would be a super bonus.

and Watford

Agbonlahor (bloody hell he sounds thick as pig shit) on the radio saying that cancelling the season, awarding the title to Liverpool but no relegation (Villa) and no promotion (Albion) is the only 'fair' way to do it

You can't have a title winner without three shit teams going down

Again it comes back to people associated with certain clubs using this situation to save their skin, keep hearing it’s the fairest way of doing it well no it ain’t. It’s fair because it suits your agenda, Stan Collymore came out with a similar scenario.
If PL award the title to Liverpool but say we won’t relegate anyone they can be accused of hypocrisy.
Deciding the title but hiding away from the messy issue of who goes down.
If they do that expect WBA and Leeds to use that to bolster their case.
It’s just as fair doing a PPG system or deciding the season based on 19 games.
There’s no fair way to do it unfortunately, but fully expect every fan of club in the bottom six want the season voided.

Actually Norwich don't seem to be going down that route. They seem to want the season played out and see if they can carry out a great escape. Presumably because a) they aren't MASSIVE, b) have a lot of ground to make up, and c) aren't financially bereft if they go down.

The other team calling for void seems to be Spurs as they think they will get parachuted back into the Champions League despite being outside the places. Which is a financial win for them. It's self interest everywhere.

Yep certain people associated with certain clubs should be forever reminded about how they tried to gain from this situation.
They will always hide behind “things are more important than football” stance. Then the argument is simple they won’t mind everything decided on PPG system will they? Their attitude will rapidly change especially those at Spurs, Villa and Bournemouth.

My best mate is a Villa STH and met him up at Bodymore Heath, shall we just say he never shunned a job in nuclear science to become a footballer :)
