It seems they can't do that as it would be a technical nightmare. Imagine if one decison is missed because one of the team lost their connection.

Sounds like a load of excuses that are easily solved with protected connections (ISDN lines?) and bigger/ separate offices. These folks don't need to be in one place, it's the utter weapons in charge who have stipulated that.

I was hoping this break might force some changes to occur given they have the time to implement any changes in structure they like. Seems they just don't want to which is a shame and missed opporuntity.

Had my S/T holder phone call from the club to check that I am OK, which is nice.

15 min chat, but whilst its a plus mark that they are doing this they are also operating a bit from a script. At the end of the conversation he said that if I need anything like shopping being brought round to ring them. I had already said that I live 150 miles away so 'gently' suggested that that probably wasn't a good use of their time & I had local networks/neighbours that will help if I really need it (which I don't for now).
