Wolves 3 v PNE 2 - a mental game verdict thread

Preston were niggly and dirty, surrounded the ref at every opportunity and there was plenty of off the ball stuff. Hugill in particular was a dirty fucker.

We were sloppy, not helped by a ref who didn't punish the pulling and tripping off the ball. The daft thing is Preston didn't need to be dirty as they were pretty decent on the ball and they had Douglas on toast the entire game.

Batth was very poor defensively and his decision making was shocking, lacking composure and will.

Bonatini, Neves and Jota were outstanding. The best I've seen Bonatini play.

The ref was good for 15 minutes then wanted to be the main attraction by acting the cock for the rest of the game. I find it staggering we've had a local ref twice when he simply isn't good enough as a ref let alone his conflict of interest.

I thought the first twenty minutes of the second half we were tremendous and 5-0 wouldn't have flattered us. Amazing the different impressions people get of games. Saying that, filthy North End did well to get back into the game and I am DELIGHTED it was in vain for them, especially the little shit wearing 4 who made Barton look like Mother Theresa.

Alex Neil saying their keeper was impeded for our third? Maybe by their defender but not by a wolves player

Their suspensions and injuries are building up now

Bonatini tried to block him clearing and slipped, accidentally barging him. As it was the kick went over halfway, so the fact we scored had very little to do with it. It was more the incompetence of their own defending to blame.

Oh right, I thought he meant after he'd saved the initial effort.

Either way it was a cracking ball in

Bonatini - MOTM by a mile
Douglas - Donkey of the Day by a similar distance

Not sure if there was anything from the cross, Maxwell certainly was having a go at the linesman afterwards. From recollection Leo was nowhere near him when the cross came in hence he was able to bundle it in.

Frank...

For the sending off the player walked off knowing he was going... the ref was then distracted by a bit f handbags from the two squads.

Before restarting play he ordered their player return from the drressing room and he was then shown his second yellow and red... was this correct or somewhat pedantic?
The player walked as he saw the ref had both the yellow & red cards in his hand. He just got a little bit distracted instead of showing them him!

Was pedantic of the ref though - everyone knew he had been sent off

Just wasted more time bringing him back to show him the card

Oh dear. Phil Brown on Channel 5. No doubt there'll be foreigners don't like tackles, will they hack it in Jan/Feb etc.

And are my ears deceiving me or did they say James Fielden was the EFL commentator?!!!

And I'd just like to say what a pass by Saiss for our third. Don't think he's been given any credit for it yet.

Brown actually spoke sense. Fair play Tango man.

I thought the ref would have stopped play. One of our players definitely tried to stop him kicking the ball.

Frank, should they really put a Villa fan as the ref considering what happen only a week earlier?

It was Bonatini but he slipped and I don't think impeded the 'keeper.

Clearance went over halfway, not really refs fault they let two of our players run clean through from one hoik over the top.

Ref getting a lot of stick online and rightly so if you ask me. I've seen 2 games from him this season and clearly he is a much more competent bodybuilder than he is referee.

Even some of the decisions for us were wrong the penalty isn't if you ask me, Doc backed in similar to Villa there's nothing in it.

Happy we got the penalty but I will be more than happy if he doesn't ref us again shocking performance.
