Wolves 1-2 Fulham: Verdict Thread

Based on what I saw of him in person and now on TV, yeah I don't think Munetsi is any good. Lots of effort but low on ability and composure.

I think we've gathered your opinion on them both but it does get a bit monotonous when you lay into them every week when other players were also responsible for the loss. The issue here isn't them per se, but a football club that hasn't recruited better. Instead of slagging them off each game, it would be better if you gave them some credit for their efforts. At present, it just seems that no matter how hard they try or how they play, you just find reason to slate them.

They are fucking dreadful. They aren't even Championship level.

Not sure what credit you want me to give them.

Muniz had Bueno all game he was pinning him and then holding him off, doing for pace, the full works really. Hard to say how good Muniz actually was because Bueno is weak and a snail in general.

At the other end Cunha didn't have a good game and when that happens we are always going to struggle for goals as the other options leave a lot to be desired. Unsure how Munetsi stayed on until the end as others have mentioned.

We need Agbadou back sharpish.

Goes back to if Djigga isn’t better than Doc or Santi then it’s piss poor business.
The squad just isn’t very good at all, I think outsiders looking in saying we’ve got to much quality to go down get duped by the qualities of Cunha, Joao and Andre but forget the bags of crap we also possess and field each game.

That was so flat, both on and off the pitch. I thought Fulham did a good job on us, but we simply have to make the opposition work harder than they had to.

When Cunha has an off day - he's only human - we need to have another outlet. We didn't have one today. At all. The movement was non existent, and we just passed the ball safety backwards and sideways. Not good to watch, zero urgency and we still badly need points. Not good enough.

Some of Munetsi's runs off the ball are actually pretty good, but he didn't do nearly enough with it and even those clever runs stopped in the 2nd half.

Bueno is shit, I find it infuriating to see his name on the team sheet as I have no faith in him at all.

Andre MOTM for us - no issue with us subbing him (he's not going to influence our attack) but would have preferred the subs to at least try and take the game to Fulham.

Just a 'meh' evening. A dull game and a boring performance.

I said on the other thread that Munetsi is utter shit and was criticised for not giving him enough time, to quick to shoot him down, blah, blah……

I might not be Gary Neville or Danny Murphy but I pay enough money watching football to understand when a player is absolutely unfit for purpose.

Whoever scouted him needs permanently removing from Wolves, and the game in general.

He wasn’t the only one, either.

Andre was the best player on the pitch by a country mile but we just didn't have a player that could unlock their defence.
As others (and I) have said, Cunha was poor, that can happen. What concerned me was we were continuously looking to get the ball to him all game, wherever he was on the pitch and however many defenders he had round him. He's our best forward player but we can't just rely in him, the other players have to be braver, both on the ball and receiving the ball. With 3 players marking him, there must have been spaces elsewhere.

Didn’t see the games, only seen the highlights on sky sports.

Not many big chances by the looks,

Their first goal bueno gets too tight then semedo commits when he doesn’t need to

2nd goal great ball by Adama tbf to him but Sa shouldn’t be coming for that. Toti is covering.

Both entirely avoidable

Think the frustration is we all know that a win tonight would’ve been another big psychological blow to those beneath us, even a point and it just keeps things ticking over.
Personally I wanted this relegation battle dead and buried ASAP, problem is this squad just doesn’t have the capacity to pull away.

Few thoughts
4th game this season, lost 4 conceded 15

When you are Cunha FC, you are going to have to take the rough with the smooth. Without him, we'd be down, but today trying to do everything on his own reminded me of Ronaldo at his worst

The players have changed, the managers have changed but in 7 PL seasons we've never had a consistent answer to a low block with a team, just interested in keeping what they have. The second half the newest example in a very long list.

You can't concede a goal within 2 minutes of each half and not look at the manager.

The above said the defending from a combination of Semedo (without knowing the communication between him and Doherty) for the first and Bueno and Sa for the second is ridiculously substandard. Taken apart both times with basic through balls.

Munetsi, nothing new to say. He'll be the new Adama or Fabio on here. Take what you want from that performance. I know what I did.

Actually think Doherty without knowing the communication on the first goal was our best player

In the first half that game wasn't approached in a serious manner, felt end of season. Their team had an eye on the weekend, we don't have that luxury but largely went through the motions. Once we gave them the second they defended well

Atmosphere appalling, chicken or egg as to whether you put that on the players or the fans.

Game was flat as many have said. TT bang on that conceding so early in both halves is on the manager. We did that too frequently under O'Neil too.

Munetsi is shite. I have never written a player off as quick as this but no. No impact throughout. JSL was more involved in his 1st 5 mins on the pitch.

Andre was superb. We had nothing when he went off. Couldn't understand why we took him or JRB off.

Ref had a mare too.

Missed opportunity.

Very flat, very disappointing, very pissed off after a good result a few days ago we had the chance to increase the gap to 8 points but in true Wolves style we fluffed our lines. Andre and Joao Gomes were very good, that was about it. Munetsi is not a starter, don't know how he played the whole game.

Was very annoyed with the lack of urgency or desire towards the end though Fulham looked impenetrable, very well organised and compact. Still misses me off to see the squads these sides who have recently come up are assembling while we willingly flog our best players year after year and replace them with inferior ones.

Nice appreciation for Raul and Traore at the end and to hear Si Senor ringing out once more to remind us of happier times. Still love the guy

Was surprised Munetsi played the full game on Saturday, even more surprised today. He looks like a bust but still has my benefit of the doubt as he is being played out of position.
I don't think the game was all bad. JRB, RAN, and Cunha link play well on the left and are developing a better understanding each week. Toti also joins them. Joao seems to be playing with more freedom and finds space in the opposition box. Andre was immaculate as usual, and we failed to create more only because Cunha had an off-day and Silva coached Fulham expertly.
Worst player on the pitch was Santi Bueno who has three defensive moves. He can run (slowly) into an opponent, or he can pull/push him to the ground, or he can run (slowly) into an opponent and pull/push him to the ground.
Every challenge he was involved in he fouled the Fulham player even if the ref didn't always give it. On that performance he shouldn't be anywhere near the 1st team - but it's not his fault that Agbadou is injured and Djiga isn't ready yet.
