Wolves 1-0 Burnley: The 1-0 massacre Verdict Thread

Do you have a non taptalk version of the link Tony?

Anyone else yet prepared to get on my 'Nuno didn't want Dendoncker' bus? We have a small squad, he was the only outfield player who realistically could have made it on Sunday who didn't. A current Beligian international and someone the club has committed to spending £12m on. Something doesn't feel right

Injury maybe?

Can’t agree TT. He arrived lacking fitness and we have picked up our form (two wins and a draw v City) when he has come to full fitness. It’s a tough Matchday squad to get into - especially when Nuno likes consistency in that respect. Cav will have the same issue IMO, doesn’t mean he isn’t rated.

Dendoncker is a very talented footballer. I’m excited that we have him at the club. With time he will play an important role

Nuno just not changing the team. Who is he going to come in for anyway? Saiss and Hause only options. Saiss is the only genuine CDM cover who knows the system etc. And Hause is the only genuine left sided defender. I assume it’s the left sided balance that tips it in his favour.

Dors anyone have a video clip of Hart saying we're the best promoted team he's ever seen? I can't find it on Twitter.

On MOTD so you'll find it on iPlayer (presumably)

On Dendoncker, not for a second do I believe that we're going to bring in any player at any position that Nuno doesn't want.

Afobe was for a quick profit and the fact it fooked Bournemouth over in the process is an added bonus

As I said last time, probably nothing in it, but the profile of the player to not even make the bench 6 weeks after signing him doesn't feel right to me. I'd expect him ahead of Hause.

Mike - I was thinking more about the January deal.
Nuno used him a fair bit so would suggest he was happy with him as a Plan B to help get us over the line.

On Dendoncker. His time will come. A year ago Bennett was probably 7th choice for CB and is now a key player. From the comments on him they are working on getting him used to the physical nature of the game. He didn't get much of a test at Wednesday but next week v Leicester should provide a decent run out to see where he is.

I don't think you can compare Dendoncker and Bennett's situations - Bennett was signed before Nuno was even announced if I remember rightly, he'd been released by Norwich and it was widely accepted he would be coming in as a backup at best. Dendoncker has been signed for a substantial fee from a team in European competition and is a full Belgian international - if he was lacking fitness I don't think he would have been selected for their squad.

I understand not everyone can play, and even understand that they wanted to get him up to speed with the system and what Nuno expects on and off the ball. I'm not suggesting Nuno didn't want him, but I do find it a little odd that he's not even made the bench for a league game going into the 6th game and over a month after he arrived.

Not comparing as such but out of the team right now doesn't mean much.

I think he has only been ready for 2 of the 6 league games anyway. Certainly before the Wednesday cup game he wasn't fit enough.

Cav didn't start many in the first couple of months last season, cue various conspiracy theories about how Nuno didn't like him (probably the obligatory "bust up" stuff too). Ended up being a key player.

I don't feel its a reflection on Dendoncker more a reflection on a team playing well and because of that a coach going with consistent team selection. A world away from what happened under Zenga and Lambert.
