Wolves 1-0 Burnley: The 1-0 massacre Verdict Thread

Yes youre right it is easier but is it better? Moyes, Mourinho, Van Gaal all went with pedigree, experience and backing and have not won the league. Van Gaal got sacked after winning the cup! If Nuno finishes 10th and wins the cup this year he gets the freedom of Wolverhampton. I really cant see him jumping ship yet.

As has been rightly said, Nuno has a blank canvas, unlimited backing and fans that put him several rungs higher than God. He's going nowhere for at least two years

I can't believe people think he wouldn't go to Manchester United.

They are one of the biggest clubs in the world with one of the highest turnovers. They have a global fan base, more spending power than us, already in the Champions League. Of Course he is invested in the project at Wolves and there are probably only a certain few jobs that could tempt him away but one of Europe's biggest clubs would almost certainly be one of them. Chances to manage teams like Manchester United don't come around very often, I want him to stay at Wolves for as long as possible but it looks like some are going to have a nasty shock to the system should the opportunity arise for Nuno to go there, as it seems they are expecting him to turn down the Man Utd job to stay at Wolves which is deluded in the extreme I'm afraid.

I would probably be as close to tears if Nuno left as I was when Bully retired in 1999...

I'm with Deano, Johnny and Del on this one. Even if we exceed expectations for the next 2 years, we're not going to be anywhere near the size of Man Utd. And anyone involved in football is gonna wanna go there if the opportunity arises.

If we reach Man City levels we still wouldnt be anywhere near the size of Man Utd. I would be sad but we couldnt keep Nuno from leaving for the biggest club in World football.

But by that logic UTD should be able to tempt Guardiola, but they cant.

As I say everyone has their own opinion. I just think NUNO has everything he wants here and is acheiving success with backing. Now, Man Utd is the worlds biggest club but now I doubt Nuno sees it as the right time. In the future who knows, but Utds problems and issues are now.

That analogy doesn't work as Gaurdiola has already been at clubs as big as Utd, has the same if not more spending power and, most crucially, wouldn't move to their fiercest rivals.

Wenger and Klopp have both turned down the opportunity to manage United and I am sure there have been others. It’s too black and white to think a player or manager will go to another club just because the opportunity exists. There are other factors and if we are to believe the messages coming from the club then Nuno has money and, at the moment, a lot of potential to develop his reputation.

I fear losing Nuno to Real Madrid rather than Man Utd a couple of years down the line due to Madrid having a habit of chopping and change, while we could gain Julen Lopetegui in that process.

This is ridiculous, Nuno has nowhere near achieved enough to be considered as United manager YET.

Maybe if he gets us top 6 next season, and/or wins a cup, but there is no way the fans of United would be happy with Nuno at this stage.

Is it the international break again? Why is this total hypothesis even being discussed? He ain't leaving Wolves in the next few weeks, he ain't leaving Wolves this season! Lets just enjoy the ride, enjoy the football and enjoy the praise being heaped on OUR team, manager and players

Agree with Darlo and EP. Way too early to be worrying about this. Nuno's not going to be in the frame for Europe's top clubs for a season or two yet.

I can't imagine the fans of any of the top 6 clubs would be all that impressed if they appointed Nuno as their manager. As invaluable as he and his coaching staff are to us right now, he's not done anything to prove to the rest of the world that he's a top manager yet.

Pochettino hadn't actually achieved a great deal with Southampton either IIRC.

Depends what way you look at it. He got them to finish in eighth with their highest ever points total, beating some top sides along the way.....

Sean Dyche to Man Utd it is then. Nuno's safe.

Aye, but no trophies.

I think the way we are playing will make Nuno a very attractive prospect regardless of whether we win a cup or qualify for a European competition.

We've all seen it ourselves. The guy is on some next level shit.

Alan, you’re bang on. If we think we’re the only ones who know what Nuno has already done and what he’s capable of we’re kidding ourselves, his profile is getting bigger by the week. Having said that I think he’s too ingrained in Wolves now to jump ship so early and Man Utd have been a basket case of a club for a while now. I can’t see Nuno going anywhere any time soon.
