But this is by design. Semedo is the 4th most attacking player in the system. If your WBs can’t cross, shoot or play incisive passes then don’t play WBs or play someone else. I’d rank Semedo above Marcal and Traore of players I’d want it to fall to and Raul had snatched at every chance he has had. So basically Semedo is the second most likely player to score at the moment and we don’t want chances to fall to him.
RAN is the only genuine WB in the squad and he’s not playing. Needs to play or change the system.
There has been a lot of overreaction, me included. The next two league games are massive though. Can’t afford to not score in two more games against bottom 6 material.
Either works. I am not getting into knee jerk reactions after yesterday when half the team were well below par. Drndonckers height is missing at both ends of the pitch for me as are Moutinhos legs. They are not what they used to be at all even if we play higher. That squad is a mid table squad but the players need to perform to achieve that. Yesterday they just didn’tWhy move Kilman over when Boly has played LCB comfortably before? Plus he has more experience to help out RAN.
The anti-Adama agenda here is ludicrous. He's not the reason we lost the game.
By 'not contributing for years' you really mean 'didn't contribute last season'. Like he was the only one!
He certainly contributed during our 7th place finish the season before. Or does that season only count for everyone other than Adama?
we generally look a lot more fluid when he's not on the pitch though.
When he came off against Watford and we scored a really well worked goal after about 2 minutes of him leaving the pitch. That's the kind of fluidity I'm talking about, if he's on the pitch that goal doesn't happen because he wouldn't be in the position Podence was to receive the ball and more likely than not would have belted it miles over marcals head.I see this cliche repeated a lot on here and I'm not really sure where the evidence for it is.
He's started every game this season, and last season the vast majority of the time played the full 90.
For the handful of games he didn't start in 20/21, for every Palace at home where we won, there's a Palace away where we lost.
And the one game he missed completely (Everton at home), we lost too. Is that the kind of fluidity you're talking about?

Last season isn't a barometer either, completely different style of play.
I still see Traore as an impact sub. Until free flowing pass and move comes naturally to him, he does not have that eye for a pass or move. Hwang clearly does and he has tricks and speed too. I would not mind seeing him up top in a 2 .Well for every game like that you have one like Brighton last year where he came off the bench to equalise?
And if last season isn't the barometer, then what is? The season before, when he became our record PL assists provider?

Neither, I'm talking about this season which is under a different manager who used a completely different style of football and whether he actually fits in the way we are trying to play better than podence or hwang and I don't think he does. No good looking at what happened last year because it's irrelevant to the point.
So your confident assertion that we're 'generally a lot more fluid' when he's not on the pitch comes solely from the last 9 minutes of the Watford game? Right.
That and understanding his strengths and weaknesses, as well as the type of football we look to be playing. You obviously disagree but he's not an inside forward and he'll never have the movement off the ball or vision to be successful playing there, he'd be better as a wing back imo.
That makes me so frustrated, there is one Brentford player in the box for Toney to pass to and no soul near him.Marcal is not beyond criticism on their second goal either, doesn't anticipate the danger at all, just ambles back!
