Transfer Speculation Thread 2014/15

A young centre half being played out of position?

The type of player who are perfect for three at the back, maybe Kenny Jackett is looking for a left footed centre back alongside Danny Batth, and thinks Fryer is closer to the finished article than Hause.

According to Rowett, Siggy chose Copenhagen over Blues, as they had agreed a deal with us.

Birmingham City saying deal was agreed for Wolves striker Sigurdarson, who opted for Copenhagen instead.

Saville hasn't made any impact since signing and to be honest I'm not sure what kind of midfielder he's supposed to be. In my opinion we should buy out Pritchard's loan at Brentford, he's proven far more successful at this level. Unfortunately I think we've spunked all of our money in one go on Afobe.

Pritchard would be ideal, I'm surprised we didn't go for him in the summer

Millwall had a bid of 175k accepted for Pringle. Not a chance we'll let Scott in a straight swap.

We bought Golbourne for 750k if I remember rightly. It'll be Pringle plus cash for sure if it happens.

According to Jonzy on MolMix, who is spot on with everything he posts, there is, in his eyes, one good and one exciting signing lined up.

Building for an promotion spot then Penk. No resting on ower laurels as some was suggesting myself included.

We do seem to be making some room in our squad, an we have got Foley off of the wage bill and are probably hoping to do the same with Doyle and Johnson.

If we can get this window right like we did last year, we can push for the top six. The team is growing in confidence and I hope we can start to dominate games like we did at the start of the season but with more of a cutting egde.

I posted this on here before the window opened.

I've heard we are expecting a busy transfer window.

Sometimes these things don't come true, but it appears to be the case this time.

I've heard the arguments for, but personally I think it would be too early to get promoted. The fans don't want a season of struggles and it wouldn't benefit our younger players, who in most cases would disappear from the team.

This is a lot of business. There have to be signings like Jonzy suggests lined up and ready to come in. Getting quite intrigued now.

Could be just as much of a struggle if you wait another 12 months to get promoted though, no guarantee that another 12 months in the Championship is going to have you any better set to handle the higher level.

I think with a team so young, 12 months would make a big difference.

When we'd have less money and no guarantee that these youngsters will improve by then?

The division isn't going to be as weak next year. None of Cardiff, Norwich or Fulham are especially likely to get promotion this year; whoever comes down next season is likely to put together a much stronger challenge.

Can anyone point me to any examples of a team who "went up too early" and were irrevocably ruined as a result?
