Summer 2026 Transfer Window Thread

Jason roberts would have been decent for us at that level
Ridiculous that we signed him and then gave Mixu fucking Paatelainen game time ahead of him. And then also signed Claridge.

He was very very rough around the edges when we had him but worth a go surely.

I genuinely think a fan would have signed better players than wolves did during that period

Seeing some of the names in recent posts makes the signing the likes of Paul Blades, Rob Hindmarch, Robbie Slater and Clarice even harder to understand.

Chris Marsden was a rare good obscure pick from us. We tended to just go for names. Here was a low cost bargain and he looked great.

Then he got injured and well, it depends what you believe after that. I say Graham Taylor just didn't like footballers in midfield.

As you are alluding to ask the U21s

I think Ipswich had a fullback / wingback who looked decent. Uhlenbeek or something, it's very hazy though

Nah, he was dross.

Still annoyed we gave them money AND Mark Venus for Steve Sedgley. Mark Venus was miles better and loved the Wolves.
Fairs.

Venus was one of my favourite players from that era, couldn't understand why we sold him - even as a youngun it made no sense

I still haven't forgiven Dave Jones for not bothering with Kim Kallstrom (and calling him rubbish) when we could have had him on a plate.
He did weird things all the time.

Not saying I would have especially liked him but he took Kris Boyd on trial then promised he'd come back for him when the window was back open. Then just didn't.

Scouted Silas for two years (apparently) then had no idea what to do with him.
