Transfer Speculation Thread 2014/15

Even though I would be gutted if we lost who I think is the best LB in the league and will be playing in the pre within 2/3 seasons if it is because of a bust up I will drive him to Rotherham myself, had enough of that crap in the past few seasons. But that is a huge if. It'll just be a waiting game for now.

Do we know anything more of Lingaard coming to us or is it just the rumours and him reportedly being seen?!

I'll be massively disappointed if we sold Golbourne - our best left back by a country mile. I can only assume KJ isn't happy with him for some reason.

I don't know whether it's been mentioned on her, but there are issues with Saville too. Apparently, he was off sick last week and then went on benders on the nights - message to Saville, if you're going to be off work sick then don't put pictures of your nights out on Snapchat.

Can't be arsed with people like that, he won't get a sniff of first team action behaving like that with KJ around and rightly so. What happened to our 50 page dossiers on everyone we sign making sure they are the right character etc?

Gutted if this is true. Of course, some players are almost impossible to manage, though he's never struck me as one. I'd have hoped KJ was diplomatic enough to avoid so-called 'personality differences'.

Obviously the lure of Wolverhampton nightlife simply can't be predicted.

So does that mean if he does go and he's told us a big fib that we can justifiably boo him next time he plays at Molineux?

I'm really struggling to see this one being true for a multitude of reasons:

1) He cost 700k and has done nothing but improve so logically,we'd be asking for at least a return on our initial investment. Rotherham haven't spent near that sum despite their promotion and from what I can see, their current LB has been performing well this season on loan from United
2) Kenny praised his performance in the first half of the 4-0 Brentford drubbing, where he had to come off at half time. He then mentions that he's probably part of our best team along with Nouha (who was injured at the time) when fit. If there was a feud between SG and KJ, why would he have brought him back into the fold?
3) "I think he'll be back in first team contention in early February" - Jackett only four days ago when asked about his progress.
4) We don't have another specialist left back at the club. Rowe is out for three months and Ricketts is clearly finished here judging by KJ's comments in the same article as the one noted above.

Unless we have a replacement lined up and ready to go, I really can't see it.

Edit: Seems Scott has just put it to bed himself!

"Not Rotherham" well there's other clubs about so I don't know if that really means much.

Saville was at Millwall under Jackett, and the comments from the coaching staff at the time Wolves signed him made it sound as if his transfer was somewhat unexpected - like he was somebody Jackett liked, but who we thought wasn't for sale. I've been wondering all season if we'd have signed Rowe (who I think was probably a target picked by the scouting team) if Jackett had known earlier that Saville (who was maybe his personal choice for a new midfielder) would be made available by Chelsea. It feels like we have one too many central midfielders right now, and I doubt Rowe would have come from being captain at Peterborough if the best we'd have been able to offer him is second-choice left-back.

Not to say that that means he's not a professional, but just that I think he's more Jackett's target and signing than Thelwell's.

Do Clubs actually buy injured players?, well other than us obviously.
