I bet my PC is more powerful than the new PS4 and the new Xbox! I think the day of the console may be numbered unless they can come up with some real innovation.
Some TV's already have built in apps and the casual gamers have moved from Wii's to phones and iPads.

Who is going to pay £100's for an already out of date console and then pay £50 or £60 for a game?
You can buy Bastion (one of the games of last year) for about a fiver on the app store or on the Chrome web store, and there are some fantastic RPG's for the same price.
On Steam on the PC you can buy 100's of top class games for less than £10. The Steam Box will soon be out and will fit nicely under your TV.

Interesting times indeed..............

I was thinking the same but Sony will claim it to be super powerful and shoot lazer etc etc and really it does non of that when you get it out of the box.

I am a PC gamer and do like steam (not a fan of Valve) but some people don't want a super pc, some people prefer a good old console.

Aliens: Colonial Marines has received very poor reviews indeed. Massive, massive shame as I would have got it if it was any good.

Seeb the same, I thought the game was going to be good but it's a shame that it would turn out to be crap.

I just REALLY want a decent Aliens game. I thought this was going to be it. So disappointing.

I'll contact Rockstar, Sega and atari to get one made for you :D

I don't think their will be a better alien game than the Resistance series.

I don't think I would ever go back to PC gaming - It is too expensive to keep up to date. When I used to play on the pc it often seemed to crash or the game wouldn't install properly. Admittedly that was about 10 years ago and it has probably moved on by now. I like the simplicity of using a console - put the game in and your away. My gaming time is too limited and precious to arse around installing and setting up games. I am sure I'm not the only one - which is why consoles will stick around!

I appreciate what you say but now PC's just adjust themselves to your game. No crashing, no problems installing.
Not expensive at all. Buy a mid range PC and it'll last for at least the life of a console + a little bonus...the games don't cost £40 or £50. In fact if you wait 12 months they're normally £5 or £10!

Consoles are doing so much more than just playing games these days, all need an 'interactive' element, online gaming is more popular than ever etc - consoles won't be going anywhere for a good long while.

Though I'm intrigued by this talk of the next xbox being able to block pre-owned games. That could be a massive change in the industry.

It's 50/50 for me - not having them at all would seriously damage how many I could play.

I got Sleeping Dogs earlier this week. Got around to playing it tonight and it was very very good. I enjoyed the first few levels before turning it off.

Not too sure how many GTA fans are on here.

I finished Gay Tony tonight (oo-er), and thought I'd just mess around in the brilliant Rockstar Liberty City.

Well - so far I've found 4 new missions and about another 30 tasks to complete. Brilliant.

I just hope people who finished the game didn't just delete it.

After seeing that video, I will definitely preorder this.

I like the reward idea, I like the new weapons, I like the new map layouts, I like the new grenades. It could be my game of the year.

I'm not a huge fan of TDM on Gears because I find the maps are too flat, but they look much, much better in the new one. Having Domination on there too is a huge plus.

And Horde is just awesome anyway - the new 'classes' is a good idea. The last Transformers game had something similar and that's a right blast. Literally.

Disagree 100%, but there's no doubt that a paradigm shift is coming to the industry.

No it's not. Hasn't been for a number of years now.
