Did anyone ever use their PS3 to play PS2 games (could you do this?) or their Xbox 360 to play Xbox games?

I played PES 5 on my 360 for a little while but otherwise, I didn't see the point of playing old games on a new system.

I don't see lack of backwards compatibility as a major issue TBH - and I think easy access to social media will be part of all the next-gen consoles.

It's far, far too early to make a comment on a system that's had pretty much no real details outlined for it but there was nothing new, impressive or surprising in the minute summary shown in that press conference.

It was mainly a quick wave to MS saying 'look - we're busy! Over to you....'

On the original 60gb PS3 you could play Ps2 games but I never found the motivation because I was playing a lot of resistance and motorstorm.

I agree with you that this is Sony's way of saying "hi, we are looking to the future"

E3 this year will be amazing. I predict an Xbox reveal and a shed loads of awesome games being announced but then again, I say E3 will be amazing every year :facepalm:

There's going to a lot of very big and important announcements at this years E3, that's for sure.

Some of the 'fanboy' comments about the announcements are so silly - such devotion to a product makes no sense to me (says the ardent Wolves fan!!). They could have unveiled a house brick and Playstation nutters would jizz over it, or they could have unveiled a free working, lifelike android of Mila Kunis complete with perfectly convincing norks and Xbox nutters would pan it.

I'm certainly going to be getting one of the new consoles but I have no 'allegiance' to either company - I'll buy the one I think is best.

I love ShopTo. Great place.

I might wait for a few months to pass, or at least have a look for exclusive titles etc.

Or win the lottery and buy both.

Your Amazon Prime offer run out?

The PS4 looks like a powerful machine with the processor and memory, but ultimately it's still a Playstation and doesn't really have much new or appealing. I'll stick with my 360 thanks.

Shop to are better than Amazon prime . They deliver quicker and always promise to get the games and systems on time and often deliver 4 days early.

The new Tomb Raider game is getting good reviews.

Loved the Tomb Raider series - but it was absolutely destroyed by the genius of Uncharted. If the new TR is half as good as any of the Uncharted games, it'd be worth getting.

I think I'll buy it.

I saw that. It's getting a lot of 8.5-9.0 scores.

However, my March money is going on Sim City and Gears of War.

Gears of War is pre-ordered, so there's 2 games to look forward to.

Except Far Cry is a sandbox FPS whereas TR is a third person cover-based adventure game like Uncharted or Gears of War?

Oh I know, I just meant in the 30 second video I saw in Game, it was Lara with a bow an arrow in a jungle, shooting a deer, like in Far Cry, where you can go around killing and skinning animals.
