True, Everton aren't the kind of club to overextend themselves on an unnecessary transfer
So right. That’s why a top premier league club board member said “we always ask what would Everton do as they always get it right”
😂

Dortmund trying to get Sancho back on loan

Timo Werner close to joining Spurs on loan.

Bayern trying to sign Eric Dier.

The Saudi dream seems to be falling apart quickly. Benzema talking of retiring, Jota, Henderson and Firmino all want out asap
Give it 12-18 months the league will go back to how it was and numerous clubs across Europe will be owned by someone who definitely 100% are not part of the Saudi investment group.

Utd did it with Rooney.
Rooney wasn’t a British record - the record then was Rio Ferdinand. I don’t think anyone at the time thought United had overpaid as it was clear he was a generational talent. Ferguson looks good but is nowhere near as proven as Rooney. Probably a better manager though.

Rooney was ridiculous, even at 18 it was clear he was going to be amongst the world's best. Ferguson does look bloody good, and he's clearly unlikely to drop out of the elite clubs once he moves but he's not a player to build your squad around like Rooney was. That said I reckon he'd prove decent value at £100m if he went to Arsenal, Liverpool or Spurs. Anybody of his ability would be fucking mental to do to Chelsea or United, they're absolute black holes for talent.

Rooney was incredible at Euro 2004, that was always hastening a move and if United didn't go then, someone else would have.

Lentini is possibly a parallel. €14m world record transfer when he'd probably done less than Lee Sharpe at the same time in 1992.
