Everton somehow getting £8m for Demarai Gray who is waaaaaaaank.

His move is now confirmed. Only weakens Everton in terms of numbers, certainly not in terms of talent.

Pepe from Arsenal went to Trabzonspor for £3m quid. They really were a banter club but sadly not anymore

I do go on about players fitting certain leagues better than others, but it's always crazy to see it as starkly as with Pepe.

I don't think his personality fits anywhere tbh.

Probably just protecting their asset values but João Palhinha and Harrison Reed signed new contracts at Fulham on Thursday. If I was Palhinha I would have ensured that a reasonable release clause fee was inserted if one of the big guns come back for him either in January or next summer.

Appears Jessie Lingard has found the line the Saudi's are not prepared to cross when it comes to wages. (Steven Gerrard's) Al-Ettifaq pull out of deal to sign him as his wage demands are too high

Reports in August claimed the 30-year-old wanted £7million-a-year, which equates to around £130,000-a-week. That figure is considerably lower than the reported £700k-a-week Al-Ettifaq are paying Jordan Henderson, but it appears the club are nonetheless unwilling to sign off on it

All things considered that isn't actually "that" much.
It is when he's off a 0 goals, 0 assists season. Like I literally had as much attacking impact on the 2022/23 campaign as he did.

You know what I mean though - it's Saudi, they haven't generally given a shit about quality before.

I don't think they've signed proper washed up dross though have they (I'll grant you that they don't necessarily pay commensurate with ability).

Take away about 6 good games for West Ham - even by the end of that loan spell he was dropping off and their fans were split on keeping him - Lingard has been atrocious for about five years now.

Also Lingard is bargaining from a very weak position. If he doesn’t get the Saudi gig he isn’t playing full stop until January.

Strange sudden drop; Matt Lowton has signed for Witton Albion (tier 8). Played in the Premier League as recently as May 2022. He's only 34 too.
