The Things You Are HAPPY About Thread.

That my house move is entering the last phase now - all links of the chain in place and just keeping solicotors feet to the fire.

Going back to Surrey to be nearer my children and grandchildren. Costing me a load as its more expensive up there.

On the Wales discussion used to go on holiday on the cheap to stay with someone who had trained as a district nurse with my mum just after the war in Friog (not far from Barmouth) - brilliant scenery & beach there.
Only time at Llandudno was taking 2 16 yr olds on canal holiday up the Llandudno canal. Going oer the pontcysylite aqueduct - I'm at the back steering & both ot them were 60ft away at the front hanging over a 126 ft drop down to the river! Bugger all I could do about it so just chatted to all the Japanese tourists walking along the barriered path on the other side & hope that I still had 2 boys after we got over

Good to see you on here again, sir

Are you mixing up the Llangollen canal with Llandudno? The canal that crosses the pontcysylite aqueduct ends in Llangollen I think.

Used to love spending weekends at families houses just outside Fairbourne as a kid. Boat across to Barmouth for 20p, hire a jet ski down in Tal y bont, 20 mins drive to Harlech for golf/castle and then back for a bbq on Fairbourne beach.

Fantastic times.

Our family had a holiday flat in Barmouth and we spent most six weeks summer holidays there for years. Really good memories. I wish we still had it now!

Between the villages of Acrefair and Froncasomethingthatsoundswelsh.

My folks lived in the Fron. Their house backed on to a pub. My brother was drinking in there from the age of 16. In that much with my Dad the landlord made the pool table free and organised his 18th in there.

Walking across that aqueduct was odd. From the Fron side, no issues but from the Trevor basin it freaks you out

Fuck me Wolverhampton or the Algarve, it's a tough choice

When I was a kid we all used to enrol in the SPACE scheme run by Staffordshire police. Basically loads of Summer subsidised activities to keep the kids off the streets going to Alton Towers, Drayton Manor, Solihull Ice Rink and the like. The staple of my Summers for those years was Rhyl Sun Centre, took bloody hours to get there as it was before the A55 was a dual carriageway so we went in a coach through Shropshire

Ours went from Chasetown Comp

I was in SPACE too. Though it was just opening up the two local schools for activities. Like all the sports stuff plus they brought in arcades into the assembly room.

They did run a snooker comp one summer though when I was 10. I won it and got to play Len Ganley's son Martin. He turned up in a Porsche and used pink chalk, the twat. The Ganleys were are all from round here too.

Probably the best place for this, did make me happy and laugh uncontrollably

I woke up around 1am this morning, saw that Mrs Trips wasn't in bed. Left it a few mins and went to look for her. Not downstairs, not in the toilet, very odd. Anyway, poked my head in the kids rooms to see if she's with them, and the en-suite light is on in my daughters room. Mrs Trips is taking a shower, at 1am.

Anyway, I wait til she comes out. Ask the obvious question, why are you showering this early? "I'm getting ready for work" I then ask why is she getting ready for work at 1am - turns out she misread her phone and thought it was just before 6am when she woke, so got up and started getting ready for work. Told me this morning it was after 2.30 before she got back to sleep as the shower properly woke her up.

I think the killer was when she told me she thought she felt more tired than normal when she jumped in the shower 😅

Similar thing happened to me the other week. In my dream state the alarm on my phone went off and turned it off and went back to sleep....I then woke up and that image was so vivid I genuinely thought it happened.
In a panic as I was driving up to Leeds, I raced around getting ready, sorting the dogs out. I only checked the time after doing all this as wanted to see if I had time to make a coffee.....it was 3am. I usually leave for Leeds at 5.30am.
