The Rugby Thread

It really is. It's whole aim is not to create but only to disrupt. But I can see why a Wales supporter would like it :)

Well the onus is rather on England to do something. I never noticed the rule that teams had to entertain.

From a supporter of the Kings of up your jumper rugby that is even more hilarious.

Times change, even Wales have realised that now.

Seems to me a fairly simple way for England to deal with this. If you are tackled, then just get back up and go again. You either get a break through the middle or force it into a ruck situation.

Losing a lot of respect for Italy here, these non-injury breaks are getting tiring too.

Better stuff from Italy here. Turned defence into attack very quickly and they get a penalty.

Nathan Hughes is really struggling at the breakdown and England are leaking a lot of penalties.

And then the spawniest of tries for Italy.

Deservedly behind, irrespective of dubious Italian tactics.

Quite possibly the worst half of rugby I have ever watched. Been looking forward to this all weekend and I am so disappointed. Even if England win I never want to watch this tripe ever again.

Tactics used previously by Waikato, Australia, Samoa, Gloucester and Bath.

Far as I can see it is an open invite to pick up the ball and smash through the middle of the contact area.

Really difficult trying to explain this to my kids, we spend all Sunday morning explaining that they need to get behind the ball for the pass and attack.

In general, not just today - where does Parisse stand in terms of international number 8s?

Instantly better from England in the second half. Looks like they have worked the tactic out. And a lovely quick penalty to get a try.

BTW - If at home, be you Scotland, Wales, England, Italy, France or Ireland, score music is just fucking embarrassing.

And now England lead. Very interesting to see Launchbury staying on his feet at the kickoff. England are avoiding rucks now so I think they have twigged it.

England as a one off try the same tactic - I think to prove a point and disrupt the heck out of Italy's platform.
