The Rugby Thread

I thought your subs were shit basically. Best thing that happened for England was a pillock Welshman not kicking it into the stands.

Not sure we wouldn't have been knocking seriously on the door even if it had gone to the stands, we had just had a couple of huge rolling mauls and there was still 5 minutes on the clock (I think) so enough for us to work the ball back upfield.

Who've you got next Pad?

Was surprised to see Moriarty come off when he did. He was absolutely outstanding.

Moriarty should have had a yellow for that 'tackle' against Farrell anyway.

No he shouldn't what a load of bollocks.

Great game of rugby. Gutted to lose but pass my grudging congratulations on to the winners. So close for my guys but no cigar.

Our subs were great - George has to start, Sinckler great work at the end - it was your subs that were shit - taking Moriarty off was unnecessary and wrong.

Just watched the game back and have to agree with this, why Moriarty was subbed is just bonkers.
Whilst it was poor kick that lead to England's winning try there was still a lot of work that needed to be done to score the try and there was a lot Wales could have done to prevent it.
Reality is it was a brilliantly executed try.
Even if the ball had gone to touch England would have had a line out no more than 40 yards out and would have had enough time to create another chance.

On the flip side of rugby I've just spent 2 hours in the absolute freezing cold with my boys and their u8 team. Not only was it brutally cold there was also dog shit on the pitch :(

Just been to watch my 10yr old grandson playing for the U11s and can completely agree about the freezing cold wind. I always take some of my own dogs' poop bags in my pocket to help clean up any mess.

As to the Moriarty tackle, I've seen players sent to the bin for such late tackles, but for me it's all about when the tackle starts as you can't expect players to pull out half way through. Moriarty started the tackle after the ball had been passed, so it was very late and deserved a penalty and a ticking off by the ref. I was impressed with Farrell's attitude after he got his breath back, he didn't complain, just jogged back with a grin on his face and got on with it.

Posted earlier on the RIP Thread;

Sione Lauaki, former All Black has passed aged 35..........

The joys of playing sport on local park pitches.

Just watching the winning England try again. It really was a stupid kick, but my goodness what a finish it actually was. Also lots of credit to Daly for the amazing chase back when Biggar broke away. That was the game in hindsight.

Yes - still spawny as we kicked the ball away. Had we not done that then we probably would have held on.

BTW - Good match between France and Scotland now.

I am not normally a big rugby fan but it is on in the pub and I must admit I am enjoying the game.

You didn't. That is the point. Not spawny. It's like suggesting that the dog would have caught the rabbit if it wasn't for (the dog) stopping to have a shit.
