The Official FIFA World Cup 2022 Megathread

It’s impressive they won it considering their league system was still a shambles then. It was all local, amateur divisions. Adi Dassler did make them some special boots with interchangeable spikes to give them a slight advantage though.
It bothers me, unnecessarily so, that people say Adeedus rather than Adidas.

Fair enough. I couldn’t remember when they allowed it to be professional. I know being a professional in Germany was banned up at least up until WW2 (unless my memory has failed me, it’s not been long since i read Tor!)
Was post-war, they were officially "semi-pro" pre-Bundesliga in 1963 but with joke jobs as ironically enough, you'd have in East German or Soviet teams of the time.

We're used to our pyramid because we grew up with it but honestly, it's fucking weird :D We shouldn't have 100+ professional teams, no way.

Birming-ham
Cities get a pass. Burr-Ming-Ham is in Alabama, Bur-Min-Hum is in England.

Like Concord in NC is Con-Curd, whilst Concord in Massachussets is Con-Chord.

Martinez has at least dropped Micky Batshit and picked Trossard. It's something. Donck is back in though alongside 72 year old Witsel.

Love ya, @Tredman

Poor Michy. He looked like the real thing at Marseille. Won't be the last player I scout poorly, though.

You both like Tammy too!

"What do you look for in a forward?"

"The ability to control a ball 20 yards"

I like Hwang more than Tammy!

That says a lot more about me than it does about either player, tbf.

Why is Morocco leading not what Belgium want to hear? (according to comms)

They have to beat Croatia regardless of what happens elsewhere don't they? Canada were never realistically going to beat Morocco by a few goals.

Yep. This is like when Saunders sent staff to "watch other games" when we were in our death rattle under him. WE NEED TO WIN YOU THICK BASTARD, IF WE DON'T THEN NOTHING ELSE MATTERS.

Another soft penalty. A tiny bit of contact that didn't make him fall over like he did.

That is so tight even by computer standards that it just shats all over the intent of the law.

I still say on incredibly tight rulings like that a margin of error should be introduced and just rule them onside with no advantage had.
