Probably some mark where you're not allowed to go past, I dunno.Easier to score....5 misses from 9 attempts
Also, why was the keeper appealing for offside?...
(my suggestion wasn't serious but god bless America)
Dissing the UK Alan that you are referring to is a possible banning offence, Alan!Speak for yourself, headset-and-gloves-in-car man.
I was probably overdue tbfDissing the UK Alan that you are referring to is a possible banning offence, Alan!
Missed his only ever actual penalty for us too.I have a vague recollection of Robbie Keane having to take one on his Inter debut in a friendly. Missed it I think.
Nah. 90’s kits were ace.The kits are equally atrocious then again there where some serious fashion crimes with kits in the 90’s
Is mind boggling how West Germany managed to win the World Cup 9 years after the end of World War 2.To be fair the Mighty Magyars they were the best side in the World at the time and it was a huge shock when Germany turned them over in the final.
They hit the woodwork 3 times and had a goal disallowed on their way to defeat. They'd beaten England 6-3 and 7-1 in the months before the tournament.
Football wasn't really impacted by the war, the majority of grounds didn't get damaged to any great degree, players mostly survived and like our British players, tended to serve away from anything dangerous and/or carry on playing anyway in wartime fixtures, there was no national league before or after the war anyway so it mostly just carried on as normal, obviously no money in the game then nor was it a global affair. I suppose they lost East German players but it wasn't a deal breaker. Is mind boggling how West Germany managed to win the World Cup 9 years after the end of World War 2.
Fucking bottlejobs, they were 4-1 up as well. Dave Jones in charge.Yeah, but during the war, the very best German players lost to some PoWs with a rookie Yank in goal...
I'm sure it was a draw?Yeah, but during the war, the very best German players lost to some PoWs with a rookie Yank in goal...
VAR would have had ze Chermans losing.I'm sure it was a draw?
Fair enough. I couldn’t remember when they allowed it to be professional. I know being a professional in Germany was banned up at least up until WW2 (unless my memory has failed me, it’s not been long since i read Tor!)They were professionals, but there was no national league.
Serie A didn't exist until 1930 either and Italy won in 1934 and 1938. Basically nothing pre-European Cup resembles modern football when you look at continental Europe.
Speaking of which, I always thought the crossbar challenge would be a great way of deciding a tie.A bit Soccer AM!
