The NFL Thread

Bills RB/KR Nyheim Hines suffered a serious knee injury that will mean he misses the whole season: he was on holiday, sitting stationary on a jet ski when some dumbass ploughed straight into him! A bit unlucky that.
Bit of a sideways step here, but didn't a Wolves player miss a whole chunk of games when, standing in his bathroom dropped a large square bottle of aftershave onto his foot and broke some small bones...?

That was Santiago Canizares before the 2002 World Cup.

Watching Quarterback on Netflix. Pretty formulaic stuff but some reasonable insight into being a QB so far. Having Mahomes as one of the three featured players obvious helps.

Yeah I’m enjoying it, especially the game footage and hearing them mic’d up. Kirk Cousins is hilariously vanilla

Frosty Joe Burrow carted off during practice yesterday. Don’t think we have more details yet but that doesn’t sound great.

One of my favourite players to watch, would be sad if he was out for the season.

Would be a disaster for the Bengals if he is. No real reliable QB available either as a free agent that could do a job.

Teddy two gloves probably the pick of the ones that are.

It was reported to be a calf injury, but it was non-contact and some folk saying it could be achilles.

Non-contact always sends up red flags for me.

It would be brutal if Cincinatti fans have to go through Carson Palmer all over again. Worse than that, really.

Zach Taylor has apparently confirmed it's a calf strain and that he'll miss "several weeks".

And they'll apparently add a third QB in addition to the two backups they currently have.

Sometimes football is too cruel.

Broncos WR Tim Patrick has torn his Achilles tendon today, and will miss the season. Almost a year ago today, he tore his right ACL, causing him to miss all of last season.

Damn, that's a tough one for him. Must be soul destroying.

Both injuries non-contact, too (apparently). Brutal for the guy.

Finished watching this, Mariota is meh as expected (and having a crap camp at Philly apparently), Cousins a weirdo as expected and voice aside Mahomes comes across really well. His wife though, christ she's fucking irritating, you'd think she was the one on the field to listen to her

This league is ruthless.

Last month Detroit received Denzel Mims in a trade with the Jets. Two weeks ago, Mims injured his ankle. This week, while rehabbing the ankle, he injured his calf. Today, the Lions cut Mims from the team.

On another sad note, Robert Quinn (most recently with the Iggles) has been arrested on hit-and-run and assault charges in South Carolina.

Bills back up OT Tommy Doyle has torn his left ACL and is out for the season. Just under 1 year ago he tore his right ACL and was out for all of last season. Brutal.

Come across a college game on Sky. Navy against Notre Dame and Navy run an offence that don't ever pass the ball. Bizarre!

None of the military teams pass it much. Their O line has to keep to the same fitness levels as every other recruit. So they don't get as big as normal linemen meaning they're not as good at pass protection.

Talking of College Football, there're some crackers in this years list:
