Saw Dyche mentioned as an early favourite yesterday

At least Potter getting the Chelsea job will prevent BFS from popping up with one of his tedious 'Sam Allardicio' rants again!
Never has a manager been less suited to a playing staff and style

Danny Schofield sacked by Huddersfield. P8 W1 D1 L6 and got thumped in the First Round of the League Cup too.

Only seen them once this year which was against Watford and they battered them -without winning. That clearly was an outlier. Bruce will be expensive to bin so unless he does that sulk he does where you don't really have any choice other than getting rid of him I'd imagine given their financial situation it'll have to get worse before they do. Maybe getting into the relegation zone would do it?

I am not sure if this is accurate (and can't be bothered to go and check) but I am sure I read somewhere a little while ago that from the choke season until last season (so around a 20 year span) the lowest Albion had finished was 6th in the Championship. They have always either been in the Premier League or bounced back to the Premier League from the Championship while they have had the higher parachute payments, would be interesting to see what happens if they stay down this season, I don't think they'd be back up for a while. Especially under their current owners.

Last season they finished 10th in the Championship but the rest of the time has either been Premier League or a lowest finish of 4th in tier two back as far as 2001/02 season. 6th in 2000/01 season but 21st in 1999/2000 Season

It is true. The Albion have had a massive financial advantage over the rest of the Championship for years, and never really done anything with it.

And the best thing is even by agent Bruce’s woeful standards, his win percentage at the Crem (in itself bolstered by two dead rubber wins at the end of last season) rests at a shade under 27%. That is the worst of his career.

Seems Albion can make shit things even shitter.

Not going well for any Midlands clubs right now.

Wolves: 4 wins in 20, never score, wasting the best squad most of us have ever seen
Villa: 2 wins in 17, fans hate the manager
Forest: Slow start and already signs that bringing in so many players all at once (some of very dubious quality) is totally unworkable
Leicester: Bottom of the league on 1 point, squad all appear to hate each other
West Brom: Hovering around relegation form for about a year now, awful manager, parachute money gone after this season, absent owner
Birmingham: Still have 21st place as their first aim, takeover still not done, stadium still half-derelict
Stoke: Had to sack the manager, going nowhere in mid-table again by the look of it, consistent PL days seem a long time ago now
Coventry: Bottom of the league on 2 points (granted they have games in hand), continued crap situation with the stadium
Derby: Grateful just to have a club I suppose but fairly apparent they aren't going to be storming the league
Port Vale: Possibly the best of the lot relative to expectations! And they're 17th in League One
Burton: Bottom of the league on 1 point, had to sack the manager who kept rocking up on Sky Sports for no reason
Walsall: 0 wins in 6 and sinking
Notts County: Actually had a good start. But that is such a bastard of a league to get out of, and they've been stuck there for a while now

Great Midlands summary and tale of woe. Despite our misgivings, I think we have reason to be most cheerful.

On the sacked manager front, if we are after a new manager anytime soon and don't go down the Mendes route, looking at who Brighton are linked with/interviewing is a good barometer for where we might end up. Slightly different profiles/ownership models but similar in many other respects, especially to foreign managers because of our respective footholds within the PL.

You can still get 50/1 on Albion going down. I'm interested...

Depends on how long they stick with Cribbins for, their squad is surely not as bad as their league position suggests but as we know, employ the wrong guy and things won't work

To be honest I think we should hold our nerve and stick with Bruno for just a couple of months more and pick up Potter when he gets bulleted by Chelsea!

Their squad is hideously imbalanced and their forwards are a joke. Yokuslu is an excellent example of a second stint at a club being shit. Their defence is a joke. Their keeper is a clown.

All managed by Bruce. Pass the popcorn.
