The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2017/18

Ken was a sensible choice but I was banging the Phil Neville drum at the time as I remember.

I think I wanted Sir Bob after DJ. Definitely not Redknapp (the South Bank sang "One Harry Redknapp" vs Reading, shame on them) and definitely not Hoddle.

I wanted Phil Neville instead of Stalle, Davis instead of Kenny, no time to think before Saunders, Nuno or Zenga as the were already lined up. I didn't want Hoddle, but can't remember who I did and knew that appointing Lee after winning a few games was going to end in tears

You also wanted Shaun O'Driscoll

Yep, after Mick. Would still have been better than any of the three (including TC) that did have a go :icon_lol: And he's here now anyway :D

Hasselbaink to Northampton.

Would be a crazy decision by Palace to get rid of de Boer this early, they brought him in to change their style of play. He's done that, and they were unlucky to come away with nothing yesterday.

No doubt they will be trying to persuade Big Sam to come back in.

Bilic will be next if Huddersfield get a result tonight

5 games FFS. Although they have been shite so far, they haven't scored a goal yet this season but still..... ridiculous decision.

I think that's the thing that will have got him the sack more than anything else. And they haven't really looked like scoring at any point either. Sometimes things are just wrong from the start and this looks like one of those.

..and Dann who had one cleared off the line...

(Clearly saved them all for yesterday)

Dann had two cleared off the line.

They didn't play badly yesterday at Burnley, could've won pretty comfortably if they'd managed to finish a few chances and would've at least drew if it hadn't been from the mistake from Lee, certainly didn't seem like players had given up either so seems a bit rash.

Reminded me of Wolves under Solbakken, brought in to play a different style of football, but tried to do it with a bunch of players largely not suited to it. More Parish's fault than De Boer's in my view.

The performances against Huddersfield and Swansea were very poor, but they were good (and unlucky) yesterday, and played well at Anfield also.

Seems very shitty of Palace to bring in a manager with the brief of changing the style of play (without providing good enough players to do it) and then sack him on results after 4 games.

Depends how badly England has broken him but Woy has a decent track record of sorting out a mess. Fulham were dead and buried when he took over, somehow kept them up and then later took them to a Europa League final. Albion were sinking under RDM and he turned them into a mid-table outfit.

It's a bit tough on FdB, no way should they have lost yesterday.
