The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2015/16

They could find themselves cut adrift by some margin after those run of games could be the season where they finally drop.

I think Sunderland will go this year. It would be amusing if Villa and Newcastle joined them

Klopp supposedly set to be unveiled in Liverpool tomorrow.

As reported by ESPN.

One expects then that there have been talks going on between club and manager since before Rodgers was officially sacked. Bit sketchy.

Oh definitely. Klopp was on the way before the deed was done on Brentdan

No excuse, even without any decent forwards they ought to be comfortably mid table. Gestede can at least finish if nothing else and they have good pieces elsewhere.

Mid table? Over the last four years they've avoided relegation by 3 points (14/15), 5 points (13/14), 5 points (12/13), and 2 points (11/12). Their squad is considerably worse than any of those seasons, especially when you take into account the loss of players such as Benteke and Vlaar. I'm not sure how that equals comfortably mid-table.

Forward is the only position they're weaker at, IMO. Everywhere else they've improved.

Except RB I suppose as Bacuna still isn't one.

I agree with you. I think that the squad has been underperforming for a while. Should be mid table and yet struggles and struggles badly. May be in real trouble this season if they dont sort it quickly.

How is it sketchy?

Sounds like perfectly reasonable planning to me. You don't want to be leaving yourselves high and dry mid season so you make sure you've got a replacement all but set to come in before you make the move. Otherwise you end up desperately chasing after some has been like Walter Smith and have to settle for a shell-shocked assistant stepping in.

Or you do that and still end up with Dean Saunders.....

I would expect Nigel Pearson to be installed as manager at either Sunderland or Aston Villa fairly soon. Probably Sunderland, as I cannot see Villa sacking Sherwood.

The Villa fans seem to HATE Sherwood and he is a tactical pygmy. If they don't sack him, and very soon, they are absolutely doomed.

I suspect many clubs will be put off Pearson on the basis that he's an absolute headcase.

You are probably right, but he did a very good job at Leicester. He knows how to keep a club in the premier league, and that could sway things his way.

Sean O'Driscoll has left Liverpool and Gary McAllister has been removed as first-team coach

Klopp has agreed a 3 year deal at Liverpool.

Fair play, I honestly thought they'd struggle to get someone decent in.

"The Klopp Kop" sounds like something you'd need a significant dose of antibiotics to get rid of.
