I think he will do better than the advocaat though..but the sunlun back four is their true weakness..

He's not much to aspire to but he will keep you in the league.

Mark McGhee set to be unveiled as new Motherwell boss at 5.30.

Maybe got fed up of waiting for LVG to leave

Yes. Perhaps he is stepping down since their Euro hopes fizzled out

There is some talk Strachan may chuck it in. Tough World Cup group with England in there and only one qualifying automatically - he's going to turn 60 towards the end of that campaign and maybe he doesn't fancy it any more.

Pretty old squad at the moment as well, think the average age vs Gibraltar (a meaningless game) was over 28.

If Strachan goes, then maybe David Moyes could be on the frame to replace him.

Whose seeded where for that?

England
Slovakia
Slovenia
Scotland
Lithuania
Malta

Whilst Scotland's ranking is so low they are going to struggle. Although that's s pretty favourable group for them.

Scotland were above Slovenia I think.

Not impossible for them to finish second but they'd be likely to get a very strong team in the playoffs.

Slovenia & Slovakia are both better teams than Scotland currently and I can't see that changing any time soon. Strachan made a lot of very average players look a lot better than they are in this recent campaign, a credit to him to get them as close as he did but I think 4th place is their ceiling atm.

If Scotland had got NI group they'd have qualified..All about the luck of the draw. If Scotland or NI were in our league one would win it and the other would finish half way down

Scotland simply wouldn't win the championship title. That is nonsense.

Have a look at their squad.

They got away with the likes of Anya, Hanley, McGregor, Brown, Hutton, Forrest, Greer, Whittaker, Maloney, Dorrans, D.Fletcher & Morrison for too long (list was originally going to be 3 or 4 players long but then I looked at their squad and it kept growing). So many bang average players, chancers and journeymen punching above their weight. It was never going to last and it's no surprise Strachan is looking for the exit despite the excellent job he's done.

Darren Ferguson tipped to be the new Donny manager. They don't get much luck do they? Saunders, Dickov and now Fat Darren.

Darren Ferguson confirmed as new Doncaster manager, Gavin Strachan assistant, son of Gordon...

Chris Ramsey appoints Neil Warnock to backroom staff in first team advisory role. Sometimes football just baffles you.

Will absolutely end up in charge then

Mark Cooper sacked by Swindon. To be replaced for now by....the chairman. Although he is an ex-footballer (Lee Power) so not quite a Ron Noades/Michael Knighton situation.
