The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2014/15

I think that 7/1 looks belting value now

You can still get 13/2 with SkyBet. Look down the list of odds and I can't find anybody else I'd want to back. Plus once Clough has left a club they usually improve to the next level. He tends to leave behind plenty to work with and a good club base. The opposite to McCarthy you could say!

United have only got really two places to aim for in the promotion race though, their play off record is absolutely appalling.

I like the Bradford call as well. League One could be a good one for Yorkshire fans next season.

Not sure why past failures are relevant to the present.

I suppose Adkins will get them promoted

Liverpool say that after meeting the clubs owners, Brendan Rodgers will remain in his position as manager.

If he quit, you'd have to hate something else. They are thinking of you here!

Depends home many goals he gets them to score rather than their defensive displays...

True that..they scored 86 in L1 and 85 in the champs..more than enough then ;)

How nice of them.

Well, who were they going to get in instead? Klopp was the logical choice but he's napping, the others out there better than Rodgers surely are above Liverpool's standing.

I think they will probably stick with Brendan for another year now Klopp is out, just to see if he has progress with his squadbuilding..

100% agree. However Liverpool fans will be expecting a BIG name. Us fans of other sides can't help their delusion. I recommend laughing at them.

It really wouldn't be difficult to improve on Brendan Rodgers, you wouldn't need it to be a big name.

Well, who would you have, then?

Rodgers may not be great but he'll have them in and around 5th or 6th, surely. Not bad for a band-aid.

Doesn't matter who is the manager at any club if you keep signing poor players. Liverpool failed to plan for the future when they should have been scouting world class strikers. Having a loose canon up front Luiz Suarez alongside an injury prone partner Daniel Sturridge would only give them a short term fix.
