The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2014/15

I'd agree with that YW and with a weaker squad than ours too. I think Warburton would be a fine appointment but I do understand the 'be careful what you wish for' stance that some will take.

If Wolves were without a manager and the option was either Warburton or Jackett the choice might be easier.

Dougie Freedman only has a 3 month deal at Forest.

Dougie Freedman only has a 3 month deal at Forest.

I suppose that Forest will want to see which managers are available at the end of the season. Rumours are that Sam Allardyce might leave West Ham when the season finishes.

His contract is up so he will be leaving unless the porno dwarves decide to offer him a new one.

It saddens me to say that the club has this evening parted ways with one of the finest managers in our clubs history. After Speaking with Darren, he feels that a new challenge is needed for both himself and the football club.

We have had over 8 incredible years together with tremendous success on and off the field. I will be forever in his debt for the great times, fantastic football and professionalism he has brought to our football club. I also have no doubt that wherever he goes next, it will lead to great success for him and the club he next works for. The club has also this evening parted ways with Gary Breen, Gavin Strachan, Jimmy Walker, Stewart England and Marc Lindsey.

I’m personally very disappointed in our current league position, the performances from our playing squad and the fact that we have dropped way below our own standards that we set out at as a football club. There is plenty of young and experienced talent in this squad and with 14 games left in the season, I have personal expectations that our players will all lift their performance levels to match the incredible passionate performance and display by nearly 2000 Posh fans today when we were 3-0 down at Stadium MK.

It has not been our finest 6 months results wise or performance wise as a football team and my remit is to now go out and find a new football manager and coaching staff that will challenge and inspire these players to greater heights and to start fulfilling their potential individually and collectively. Some fans have questioned my own commitment, interest, investment and passion for this football club recently; so to them I say with full sincerity and honesty, I am hungrier than ever to get this club back into the Championship and beyond and to deliver on the promises I have made to the city of Peterborough.

I won’t stop until we are scoring goals for fun, entertaining our fans, building our fan base and winning promotions once more with a young exciting vibrant squad. I love being Chairman of this football club and losing games like today and Tuesday in the manner we did absolutely destroys me and chips away at me non-stop, so trust me and give me the time to get it right again. A football club is only as strong as its supporters and today demonstrated to me deep to the bone why this short term pain will be worth it long term. I have you the supporters to thank for that feeling and the optimism I feel going forward.

Dave Robertson will be in charge until such time as I appoint a new first team manager and coaching staff, so let’s give him the support he deserves for the upcoming home game against Bradford.

Thank you for your support

Gave him a four year deal earlier in the season. I don't know why clubs keep doing that, everything is so transient in football why would you make that kind of commitment? The rolling deal just makes sense for everyone.

Replaced with......Dave "how did I get the Leeds job" Hockaday (as joint caretaker with Neil MacFarlane)

Lee Johnson (aged 12 and a half) set to leave Oldham and take over at Barnsley

Good appointment. He was doing a decent job there.

And Oldham rumoured to want Scholes as manager.

Surprise, surprise.

First managerial change at Oldham since he's retired and Scholes is mentioned.

Looks like Tony 'ego of Brendan Rodgers, results of Micky Adams' Mowbray is getting the Coventry job.

Gibraltar sack Allen Bula after ‘thorough and careful investigation, into internal matters'

I presume that Mowbray will be offered the job permanently if he keeps the Sky Blues up.

Gianfranco Zola has been sacked as coach of Cagliari. 2 wins from the 11 games in charge

Holloway sacked by Millwall.

Neil Harris put in charge
