The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2014/15

Saw the Sky documentary on Hoddle this evening. First half showed what a gifted player he was. Second half showed what an egotistical deluded twat he is. Nothing ever his fault always someone else's. He has lived an error free life upon which he has been consistently wronged.

The part about his playing career showed that he was one of the finest players of his generation. Sadly, his managerial career was not quite so good. But maybe it should have been.

Truly baffling that Hoddle even gets a passing mention for top flight jobs. Last did a decent job anywhere 14 years ago, hasn't managed anywhere in 9.

He isn't even a good pundit, superficially he sounds like he knows what he's on about but if you ever study any of his answers in any detail they're borderline certifiable. His answer to England's defeat to Italy in the World Cup was a midfield two of Rooney and Gerrard. Last season when AVB got sacked by Spurs he said they should switch to three at the back and use Andros Townsend as a wingback.

He was doing my head in yesterday sat next to Gary Neville. Just parroting basic stuff whilst Nev analysed the proper tactics of the defence.

Rumours are that the DoF (Congerton) wanted him gone months ago.

Not sure who's about who could be relied upon to give them a quick boost - although even Di Canio managed that two years ago so you probably don't need a genius.

When I wrote that I did check BBC Sport, Sky Sports and their twitter accounts along with 5Live, only to be greeted with nothing. Guess I need to level up my twitter-fu.

They have been talking to Advocaat.

67, never managed in England and been an unmitigated failure everywhere since Zenit (where, like at Rangers, he had close to limitless money relative to the rest of the league). Seems like a winner.

LVG-lite?

I wouldn't give him that much credit.

I'd equate him with Gerard Houllier. His time has long since been and gone.

Magath sits in a class of his own, the crackpot weirdo.

Dick Advocaat! :icon_lol:

That is absolutely incredible.
