Barnsley fan at work reckons they're sinking like a stone.
Curbishley and Sherwood in running for Villa job. A battle between who wants it the least
I was going to day sherwood is becoming the new curbishley. I wonder what he's doing to put himself out of the running for all the jobs he wants.
Lambert did spend a lot of money. Most of it either failed (Kozak, El Ahmadi), was strangely mis-utilized (Bacuna, Tonev), or almost totally unused (Sanchez [£6m for a holding midfielder!], Sylla, Bennett to a lesser extent).
It's really a strange record to look at. Lots of money spent, mostly decent enough players, almost zero return on investment.
That's not OTT - they're terrible!
Didn't Bennett have pretty much a full year of football before they bought Luna in? He proved to be gash so they found a replacement but then it turned out Spanish Tony Moon was $#@! as well after his giddy goalscoring debut.
Apparently refused to sign foreign players he hadn't seen play. If true I admire his principlesInsane if true -
"Mark Warburton, the Brentford manager, has been told that he will be dismissed at the end of the season — even if he leads the west London club into football’s top flight for the first time since the Second World War."
