Curbishley and Sherwood in running for Villa job. A battle between who wants it the least

Shame for him that Barnsley didn't give Wilson one more game, they have Deano's mob on Saturday

I was going to day sherwood is becoming the new curbishley. I wonder what he's doing to put himself out of the running for all the jobs he wants.

He seems quite arrogant for someone who has only managed for 20 odd matches with his demands and self importance.

Albion turned him down as he didn't want to work with existing staff and wanted to bring in a big backroom team

QPR put Chris Ramsey in charge until the end of the Season

Fernandes really needs to learn when to leave Twitter alone.

Shame that odious gimp General Krulak has thrown his oar in and claimed Lambert had a bigger budget than Martin O'Neill....

In other news - Paul Buckle sacked at Cheltenham

Lambert did spend a lot of money. Most of it either failed (Kozak, El Ahmadi), was strangely mis-utilized (Bacuna, Tonev), or almost totally unused (Sanchez [£6m for a holding midfielder!], Sylla, Bennett to a lesser extent).

It's really a strange record to look at. Lots of money spent, mostly decent enough players, almost zero return on investment.

Bacuna and Tonev are both awful footballers.

Dan in OTT criticism shocker. :p

Didn't Bennett have pretty much a full year of football before they bought Luna in? He proved to be gash so they found a replacement but then it turned out Spanish Tony Moon was wank as well after his giddy goalscoring debut.

That's not OTT - they're terrible!

Tonev you can have but I'll defend Bacuna because he never in his life is a right back and yet that was Lambert's favorite way to use him.

Aye, Bennett played 25 in his first season IIRC but then pretty well disappeared.

Honestly though, no matter how much Lambert may have spent, and it was a big sum, to claim it was more than Martin O'Neill spent at Villa is nonsensical.

What I found particularly offensive is that Lambert used the League Managers Association to put out a statement that can only be described as very dignified and then Krulak (who I notice is no longer a poster on Villa talk where he used to revel in giving duff info) calls everything Lambert has said "hogwash". That isn't classy.

Insane if true -

"Mark Warburton, the Brentford manager, has been told that he will be dismissed at the end of the season — even if he leads the west London club into football’s top flight for the first time since the Second World War."
Apparently refused to sign foreign players he hadn't seen play. If true I admire his principles
